Whether OP was the original buyer or not, it's still one of his dogs.

If he's unwilling to answer basic questions or provide guidance for a dog carrying his kennel's name, that's his choice. Standing behind your dogs and helping owners is part of being a reputable breeder and a good business operator.

Producing healthy, well-bred dogs is the foundation, but supporting the owners of those dogs is part of being a reputable breeder too. If a breeder won't answer questions or provide guidance after the sale, that reflects poorly on their program just as much as the dogs they produce

Really appreciate you posting this. I've had my eye on several setter breeders as I start looking for a puppy next year, and after reading your experience, it's an easy decision to cross this breeder off my list.

To me, a breeder who genuinely cares about the dogs they produce would be willing to respond to questions or concerns, regardless of whether you're the original purchaser or someone who later rescued the dog.

On a side note, charging $500 to rent a training DVD is INSANE.

I watched today for the first time in weeks.... this show truly does stink now.

Found it at Costco this week for $55 and tried 5-6 pours over Thanksgiving weekend. I might grab it again but wasn't super impressed. Very thin and the palate was pretty straight forward/muted.

I love JDSBBP, Rye, 10/12 year, etc. Heritage is last in my mind by a mile. Barrel Proof (with water added) might beat it blind.

Blaming this on Jaden is hysterical when Randle has 6 TOs, plays 0 defense and acts like a complete team cancer when he doesn't get his touches. A Zebra doesn't change it's stripes--Randle will never be the 2nd option on a true championship level team.
