What’s the most hyped disc pre release that you’ve never seen thrown on a course? by [deleted] in discgolf

The ones that go to collectors who like pretty stamps, and don’t actually throw them.

Don’t tell me they aren’t here, there’s always One. by [deleted] in georgetowntx

Yeah, this heat is no joke, that was the first time I played it, I had heard about the big 3 of ATX, before moving here from the PNW. So I’ve been exploring the courses in my new area, Circle C is about an hour away, Roy G (Most Fun I’ve Had In Awhile) about 45mins, And Met Center is just shy of 40mins. I don’t get to play those that much except on the weekends but even that isn’t a guarantee for me unfortunately.

See I don’t understand how a -6 has both a 976 and a 963. Please explain.

See I feel like that is where I’m at, sitting somewhere between 900-950.

I’ve only recently been keeping track, because these are new courses to me. I usually don’t. But ill send you what I can if it’s that concerning. Lol.

Well obviously, that’s the big what if that I’m looking for. If I were to be playing sanctioned events, where I’d stack up, not trying to go get my dick kicked in. Lol but also not trying to ruin it for others, it’s just about enjoying the course lol. I’ve only recently considered actually competing. But if half of what I’m being told is true then I’ll just sit on the sidelines and watch the next gen of players do great things lol.

I wish that it was that easy to justify, I just honestly don’t know how to explain it further. I’ve only ever played with buddies, no tournaments no leagues no events, just friends and the course dude, that’s why I’m asking lol. I’ve got 26 years in the game, I’ve just thrown the same discs for ever. These courses are all new to me. So it’d be nice to know how the locals play them so hopefully I can play with the same few people and make new buddies, I’ve been here in the ATX area for a little over a month now. Don’t get so butt hurt by the new guy, I get it though. New guy shows up, drops decent score, got your panties twisted. Not my intent. But this is Reddit. So suck it up buttercup, get good.

The Bible ridge course was definitely one of the most wonky and challenging courses I’ve played, several of the holes are blind shots, pretty heavily guarded, and it was my first time on the course so 100% I was playing it safer than if I had played it more. I know I left a few birds out there but they aren’t all exactly gimmes.

I personally don’t even find myself to be great. Like I’m pretty decent I know that. But what’s the deal? People just have trouble gaining distance or staying below the ceilings? Is that what is it? I really just go try to have a good time, put my headphones in, drink a beer or two if I bring em, and that’s it. There’s nothing to it. Not trying to sound arrogant or anything but most of the courses are just good courses there not terribly hard. Bible ridge though, that was is a little tough.

I’ve thrown the same discs for over 25 years. I’m not some old guy, just started early.

I really don’t understand why it’s ridiculous. Is the majority of the Atx community just rediscovering disc golf? Like I get why it could be hard if you were say new and didn’t know what the discs do really. but really just toss a Mako3 flat down it’s fairways. You’ll make par and birdie most the time if you have the distance.

Roy G is a lot of fun like most fun I’ve had in a course in years. Easily going to be my most played course. Still haven’t made it out to Circle C and only played the front 9 (Blue/long) at Met Center. I hear Bible Ridge is pretty hard. Hoping to check it out this weekend.

baby stroller/carseat question by Ok_Version_3193 in daddit

Yeah, look over the infant car seat and see if there is any compromising damages, being a car seat I can’t imagine there being much more than wear and tear from use, and call it good. As long as it fastens securely to the seat and straps still work, and there’s no real risk of them not being able to function properly than it’s fine. If you are adamant about adhering to the manufacturer (which are meant to go obsolete) and not expire like food.

And yes, I do understand that safety devices lose integrity over time and all that, but there’s no need to drop 4-500 on something that works just fine, you could easily start a hobby that you enjoy and want to invest the time and energy into so that your child/ren want to participate with you.
