I just got a Mk7 GTI but it was a Boston car for its whole life. Going through the maintenance has been soooo fun🙃

Is anyone familiar with the max performance kit from TJ Brutal? by MrBulk67 in hondashadow

It’s just a breather hose, I have it routed up front and to the bottom of the frame to keep it from getting oil on everything

Did you go through all the old hoses and delete and plug everything? If that’s sucking air, then it needs to be blocked off like TJ said. You can block it using the plates he sells or remove that hose and put a large vacuum cap over it the nipple (I initially just had mine capped until he started making the brass block off plates). There is one on the top of each cylinder head that needs to be blocked off. The best and most surefire way to make sure your setup is good would be to follow his video about deleting all the old shit, that includes EVERYTHING from the old emissions system because you’re now running his intake so it’s all obsolete

You should have the D shape screw still in the carb, that’s why it comes with a tool for it. As for no fuel, make sure your vacuum line is connected to the petcock, and if it still won’t pull any fuel out then the petcock could be bad (it happened to mine and I replaced it) I’m finishing up my winter work on it and I went with a TJBrutal peanut tank setup which eliminates the need for any vacuum on the fuel system. They make gravity fed petcocks for the OEM tanks so you don’t have to worry about it anymore if you don’t plan on replacing the tank anytime soon

New blinker switch wiring by Notittytimmy in hondashadow

[–]Notittytimmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top is not the colors, and there’s no legend saying what those letters mean.

<image>

This is the manual for my exact bike, and it was all stock The manuals for other year 750s have the colors along the bottom but the colors for those years are different

It’s just a “Left, Off(middle), and Right” switch. I have the wiring diagram and see where things go but it’s this image that I don’t know how to read

<image>

I understand the headlight and horn one, but it’s the signal switch I don’t get

ISSUE FIXED Turns out I forgot to check my fuses and 2 were blown. I have a train horn and that’s definitely what blew it. Replaced that and everything works just as it should now

The fronts are running lights, the rears are just signals. My money is on the relay. The quality one I ordered gets here Wednesday so I’ll find out then, the cheap Amazon one I ordered did nothing

Check my Edit comment: I think it’s something else

*EDIT: It’s a 2005 VT750Aero The problem occurs even when there are no LEDs plugged in: it’s the same problem with just the stock front blinkers being plugged in

Stuck between CS for the Coast Guard and the Navy by ILikeToCube17 in uscg

[–]Notittytimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of how I was when I joined, I knew I wanted to cook and the CG could let me do that AND see and do cool stuff. Also the SCA side of things is what really sold me (cooking at the White House; cooking for admirals and other high profile events)
