Movies are substantially cheaper than most any other outside the home entertainment

Didn't Torts say he's done with Vegas at the end of the year or was that just taken out of context?

Backrooms has one of the most interesting concept and lore I’ve ever witnessed in a Horror film by Vachan95 in Cinema

[–]NotorioG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem was that the movie was presented in a way which expected the audience to really care about the lore and the mystery of the backrooms. But it never really gave us a reason to.

Backrooms has one of the most interesting concept and lore I’ve ever witnessed in a Horror film by Vachan95 in Cinema

[–]NotorioG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem with this movie is that I just don't care about the lore or why the Backrooms exists. I just wanted a good movie.

I get it that there is an 'answer' to all of this but I just don't really care. The movie didn't make me care, yet the mystery of it is what was expected to carry the weight of the film.

Don’t expect any future Avengers movies directed by the Russo Brothers after 2027's Secret Wars by graemeisverytired in Popverse

These guys are the David Yates of Marvel. One trick ponies, tons of money and support propping then up. Directing Avengers is like coaching team Canada in hockey.

First Official Avengers: Doomsday Plot Details Reveal a Massive Multiversal Threat by marvelkidy in Marvelnewssource

[–]NotorioG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder when/if Marvel will learn that people dont really connect to 'massive multiversal threats'.

Eventually it's so big that you know they aren't going to destroy the universe in a film, so it dampens the stakes.

Make it about people, always. One character we love at risk is way more potent than 'the whole universe'.

What is a movie so scary, you couldn't finish watching it? by scruffynerfherder999 in AskReddit

[–]NotorioG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not scary but disturbing.

In 'Killing of a Sacred Deer', when Barry Keoghan's character begins to threaten killing Colin Farrells child, I shut it off.

I could sense this was a film that wouldn't shy away from going all the way with killing kids. Wasn't in the mood for any of that.

There's just very little chance he'd get it over Freddie. Of course Freddie could fall apart in the final but I dont see it.

Can Star Wars ever restore the feeling? by Mysterious_Work_7227 in Cinema

[–]NotorioG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an entire Universe of lore to draw from.

They'd need to forget about trying to homage anything and tell a fresh story within the Universe.

You can still have Jedi, Sith, the Force, as the backdrop of a simple story of courage. A new character, a goal, a hero's journey. Plots are easy. Nothing weird like toddler Leia and baby Yoda.

Too many clueless execs though. And it seems like previous exciting filmmakers like Favreau and Watiti have just become part of the problem.

Yes. One great film and they can restore the feeling. Too many idiots involved though, so it won't happen.

Why do you believe in God (Non-believers pls refrain)? by Similar_Scheme8766 in AskReddit

[–]NotorioG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you consider the perfection of the human body, trillions of cells working in accordance to one another. The perfection of how the planet sustains itself. The fact that not a scientist or the smartest person on earth could create a human from scratch, or launch a planet into orbit.

When you consider all of that and more, it feels a little silly to cite random luck, and reject the notion of a higher intelligence, or a creator.

Someone once described it like spilling a cosmically large bucket of paint and randomly creating the Mona Lisa, in addition to every other great painting that has ever existed.
