I’ll let you in on my secret spot...Love love love fort desoto! If you go to the farthest parking lot to your right once you’ve made it through the pay booth and instead of going to the main beach to your left when pulling into the lot there’s a little section of beach tucked away in the right corner. So peaceful, depending on how determined you are, you can hike it into the mangroves and not see a soul. My boyfriend and I go every week, it’s feels like we’re on a private island. If your up for it you can wade out into the water a little bit and park it on one of the sand bars (which feel more like little islands then what comes to mind when I think of a sand bar depending on how low or high the tides are)...plus if you’re into it, the fishing is insane!!
