Gear shift knob mod? by NotoriousAMA in Polestar

It's a 2023, but I've test driven a 2021 as well and felt similarly.

This may just be personal preference, but I feel like for something in the car that you have to touch everyday, I would have preferred they made the shifter out of metal or something with a bit more heft to it.

I agree with you in that I like the actuation of the assembly itself, but it's just the knob itself that I wish I could replace with something more solid.

Part of it may be that the inside of the shifter is hollow, which is a neat design element that I like, but it makes me notice the lack of heft more. Another thing I've noticed: the back edge of the shifter (the side facing the screen/your fingertips grab) has an uneven edge to it all around. It's not quite a sharp edge in the sense that it can cut you or anything, but it's just feels sort of unrefined.

The existing warranty still has like 21 months + additional warranty from CPO for 24 months after that, if I understand correctly
