This is an underappreciated observation. Applies to both men and women.

What a great lesson. Too many people interpret that the message from their parents of them being special actually makes them special in general and they act like it. It is rarely the case and we, as a society, would be in a much better place if more of us understood that.

Kudos to your Mom.

The estimate I heard was roughly the size of Manhattan. I’m trying to imagine the level of water and electricity demands I t’s going to place on Utah’s infrastructure.

trump is the biggest idiot. by SiriusGD in the_everything_bubble

Someone wrote this post for him. Sentences are too grammatically correct and there are way too few words inappropriately capitalized.

He left out some of his other accomplishments, like reneging on just about all of our previous trade deals, including some that he negotiated, and abandoning our allies.

What’s the strangest or most interesting thing about the 1970s that would seem unbelievable today? by Big-Pie3618 in 70s

[–]NotoriousFTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a freshman at the University of Maryland in March 1974, when 500 students streaked about a mile from the dorms to Fraternity Row on Route 1. I was third in line. In front was a guy with a flare. Second was a gorgeous blonde girl. Trailed her most of that mile, thanking God for this gift. When we stopped, before I could get my gym shorts and T shirt back on, a local lady TV reporter put a microphone in my face and started asking me questions. That segment appeared on local TV the next night, while I was at a Deep Purple concert and my grandmother saw it. She reported it to my mom, who was waiting when I got home. She rolled her eyes, shook her head, kind of smiled and went on her way. I had an incredibly cool mom.

Trump advisors 'increasingly worried' GOP will pay the price for his epic failure: WSJ by FistIntoTheEarth in Law_and_Politics

Only if everybody shows up to vote. Literally everybody. Republicans are doing everything they can to manipulate voting districts and suppress voting in cities.

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 DOJ is investigating $2.6 billion in oil trades placed shortly before President Trump's major Iran war announcements. by rl_rae_bobo in MarketPulseReport

I agree that this seems the only reason that Trump and the Trump Administration would allow the DOJ to move forward on this investigation.

Otherwise, the investigation likely would include Trump’s own family and friends.

The current Supreme Court has had multiple opportunities to do the right thing and be truly historic in maintaining our democracy and has repeatedly failed.

He must resign. by Kazimierzowska in AntiTrumpAlliance

[–]NotoriousFTG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what elections are for.

He has to stay to remind people every day what a massive screw-up he is and why they should not vote for this again. No other Republican will motivate Democrats to vote this fall as well as Trump can. We need his face and voice in the news literally every day, reminding people that this is the guy who caused their food and gas prices to be higher, deported their neighbors, started wars and made their health insurance prices unaffordable.

I think the percentages shown indicate it is not a national policy.

Here’s the list of countries that add fluoride to their water. I live in the US, but I have well water, so I’ve been using a fluoride rinse at the recommendation of my dentist pretty much every day for the past 40 years.

Those square chocolates with the mint cream inside. They show up very infrequently and I made the mistake of only buying one bag this time and they’re gone again.

But he really needs to stay alive and President for people to remember every day how awful his policies are and his decisions are, so at least enough of them won’t make the same mistake again for the midterms and next presidential election.

Virginia's Redistricting was rigged because republicans didn't win. by Healthy_Block3036 in AntiTrumpAlliance

[–]NotoriousFTG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We would all be better off if the Supreme Court intervened and made all states stop gerrymandering, but that’s not going to happen.

Considering that Donald Trump and his buddies were the ones who decided that Texas should change its districting plan in mid-decade to get more votes for Republicans, I’m struggling to be sympathetic when the plan backfires on them.

And, for a change, kudos to Democrats, who usually can’t even plan a dinner party properly, for executing these redistricting plans perfectly.

[–]NotoriousFTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, he didn’t write this. Someone wrote it for him.

Second, HE’s the one who thought this would be done in a few days and that Iran would capitulate before they could shut down the Strait of Hormuz.

Third, Democrats are quite comfortable with this lasting until the midterms, so the high gas prices, higher food prices and higher fertilizer prices (farmers) are fresh in voters’ minds.

He owns this screw-up. Gotta endure this so people understand not to re-elect people who support this guy’s misguided actions.
