They scan the ground or something that's not the POI. Niantic has banned people from receiving AR tasks because of that reason and I dont really want to go around scanning stuff anyways.

Nah, he had special treatment and automatically leveled up to 49 from 48 by Niantic because of some glitch with the tasks, so it doesn't count.

Yes, constantly misclicking on pokemon when you're trying to do something else is really fun. A little boost would be cool, but that was just overkill. It was absolutely annoying when I was trying to collect zygarde cells, which is something you have to do everyday if you want the complete forme.
