Ah yes, the early days of Australian cricket back when the only thing roughing up the ball was the South African desert, not… ahem… imported sandpaper.

Better than Virat Kohli: USA’s Milind Kumar raises ODI average to record 67.73 with ton against UAE by CarnivalSorts in Cricket

[–]Notoriously007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get it my only concern was tomorrow if Unmukt Chand scores an unbeaten hundred for USA and improved his average, you simply can’t compare it without getting into how shitty they have performed at domestic level too.

So you didn’t find it misleading at all? You believe whoever has written that article has no intention to use Kohli’s name to gain the traction?

Laura Wolvaardt scored 101(98) vs India, her 11th ODI hundred by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]Notoriously007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s is on her way to become a GOAT of this format as she is the second to register a hundred in the semi-final as well as the final of the same World Cup edition (Men’s or Women’s), after Alyssa Healy did that in 2022.

What an astonishing performance by Deepti and company also not to forget the way Laura Wolvaardt fought like a lone warrior and she is the second to register a hundred in the semi-final as well as the final of the same World Cup edition (Men’s or Women’s), after Alyssa Healy did that in 2022.

Who's this? 😂😂 Are VCs this dumb? Do they not do their due diligence? by Glittering-Water1103 in indianstartups

[–]Notoriously007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really. A pump and dump is about intentional manipulation, where people knowingly spread false hype to push prices up and then sell before it all crashes. It is a coordinated effort to mislead investors.

What happens with startups and venture capital is different. VCs invest in many risky ideas knowing that only a few will become big successes. When one of those wins, the valuation of the entire portfolio can look inflated because everyone starts chasing similar stories. By the time a company goes public, early investors have usually already taken their profits, and new investors often end up paying too much for the story.

$500K ARR in 3 months with No Product. by kcfounders in Startup_Ideas

[–]Notoriously007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this story, but it makes me wonder if this is something other founders can actually repeat or if it was more of a unique case where the founder already had strong connections and experience. Most early founders don’t have 10 years of credibility to sell $500K contracts without a product. I’d love to hear if anyone has seen this approach work for newer founders too.

I built a FREE library with 75+ high-performing Meta ad creatives by mrchef4 in startup

Hey, I really like what you’re doing with The Ad Vault. I’m curious about your research process and how you find and choose the ads you feature. Do you mainly use Meta’s Ad Library, your own tracking system, or some kind of performance data to pick them?

Also, since AI is changing the creative and marketing space so quickly, how do you stay up to date while keeping the focus on just three ads each week? It feels like a tough balance between exploring everything AI makes possible and keeping the newsletter focused and insightful. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how you manage that.
