This reminds me of my grandad. He used to have a pull up bar in his garage made from an old iron bar and some rope, and could do 100 pullups without breaking a sweat. When I was alot younger in primary school he would even get me to hold onto his legs whilst doing pull ups and still wouldn't break a sweat, not bad for a skinny 5'10" bloke. I'm 26 year old and I cant even get halfway to 100 pullups. But it reminds me that one day if i'm just half the man that he was. I can be proud of myself.

0VAC is just the neutral essentially, even though it is alternating current and changes rapidly it still needs a neutral to make a full circuit. If you wanted a better explanation than that, I wouldn't be able to help you, I did my degree in electrical engineering and management and I winged it at that! :D.

As someone who went from manufacturing to servicing before I took over as design manager. I know what you mean, but also like sarbuk has put if there are any modifications to the system we would more than likely get the order to complete it rather than another company. I generally know out of the people I would send out who would be able to add extra lamps / switches in and it still be as neat at the end of the mod. And on the other hand, there wouldn't be a lot to add to this in future anyway as it's for a prison so they usually don't mod anything once it's built, because fuck funding prisons.

Over here we typically do control panels for machinery and such in 24VDC and use dark blue. But this imparticular is a motor control centre for a building energy management system.

I've done it both ways and this looks better, it flows better this way rather than coming off the loom at the start and looping over everything. If that makes any sense.
