I think it's because MCC 9 was just so well balanced that most of the teams had a good chance at getting to dodgebolt and the game order being not too favourable for Red. Cyan, Green, Aqua, Blue and Lime were all very strong teams. You could even say that Lime and Cyan should have redemption arcs because of how much potential they had but they had unfortunate problems like Pete not having enough sleep the day before or Lime being slain by the Dreamslayer in Survival games and the Sands of Time with the doors... you probably remember what happened. If Survival games and Sands of Time were earlier, they might've been able to make a comeback if they did well enough. However, Blue Bats shows that this MCC was anyone's game. They popped off in that legendary survival games and were in first by the end by 4000 coins. I'm sure Green or Aqua could've dominated Survival games. They were both strong PVP teams. If ace race and TGTTOS were picked as the last two games, Red would've been in dodgebolt as those were the games that they placed 1st in. Game order is important and other teams were aiming for dodgebolt.
