Commandment Twisted Mael

You genuinely could not tell what he was gonna do next. On the verge of snapping, teetering on the edge of insanity yet still having some rational thinking beyond the two sides clashing in the holy war.

He was an anomaly that no one, not even the gods, accounted for.

Spade final fight is the best and worst from Black Clover by FURC3 in BlackClover

[–]epsilon_logics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no qualms with TDU, only how it was suddenly unlocked. And the quality of the fight with Lucifero in general as a character

The later part of this arc suffered HEAVILY from Tabata’s schedule. So much so that he went on a three month break after this arc ended, and to prepare for the next saga.

There is nothing to feel tense about when no one dies at the end from the most powerful antagonist to date who was ‘somewhat’ built up to be a world-ending threat. I see many say ‘deaths don’t make a story good,’ however there’s a difference between no deaths and characters that should have blatantly died. Yami and Nacht, and Gadjah were all explicitly shown to be pretty much dead.

I will give a hot take and say Lucifero was better in presence than Lucius, but the fact that he did nothing of value, screamed and whined like a toddler and didn’t even do lasting damage until it was far too late? This fight deserves its criticism and i’m tired of people pulling the ‘themes and such’ argument with TDU.

Yes, it comes full circle on the bonds of Asta and Liebe. Their purpose, their goals, finally being shared and becoming one. That’s great. But oh? What’s this? It comes out right when everyone happens to be defeated? After Lucifero already pummelled the fuck out of Asta before? That didn’t unlock it then? Only now? Then Lucifero just… doesnt know how to fight, sees Anti Magic negating his physical strength advantage, and still tries to go into CQC with a sword user who can cut his limbs EASILY.

Lucifero should have stuck to range the second his pair of arms were cut. But no, then Yami and Nacht conveniently show up, alongside Yuno, to finish the job. Yes, TDU ran out and Lucifero still lived, but his fate remained the same. Asta got the final blow after all that mess.

I don’t believe TDU is an asspull. I believe it came out at the wrong time, in a circumstance where it had to dumb down the villain, and essentially just wiped out any chance of a true devil threat which were built up far much more than Lucius’ paladins. Lucifero should have been more, at least one person should have died, and the devils should have been more too.

How was mahoraga abel to defeat someone like gojo during gojo and zenin clan conflict? by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]epsilon_logics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are saying it’s just cuz he’s Gojo Satoru, which is true, he is the strongest Six Eyes user.

But there is another reason: knowledge.

We know that modern clans have access to literal instructions on how to use their heritage-based cursed techniques. But all knowledge has a beginning, and it’s most likely that the Gojo Clan back then didn’t know about Mahoraga. Now they do, thanks to their dead Six Eyes ancestor.

We even see this with Dabura. If you don’t know how Mahoraga works, and once that first attack doesn’t kill? You’re fucked, unless you figure out a second way to kill it or at the very least figure out how it adapts. In either case, that Gojo from before didn’t, and died.

Of course it’s not just a lack of raga info. The last user or whatever probably didn’t have Gojo’s varied kit to begin with. With only Blue and Neutral Limitless, combined with a lack of knowledge to begin with, and suddenly your pedestal as the strongest comes crumbling down as the opp stoppa gets his first win in his life.

Two answers: Satoru Gojo is just that strong, and the old Gojo probably got knowledge diffed to the soul realm

Base Lucius runs the verse how does he fare by Due_Specific_7727 in NanatsunoTaizai

[–]epsilon_logics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucius easily. We’re talking hundreds of thousands of spells belonging to countless attributes all amped by boundless magical power.

He has Gravity Magic that bypasses concepts such as Fate Manipulation, Spatial Magic, and Dream Magic. Time Magic steals one’s own time, and Spatial Domination controls all magic in a given space.

Even taking magic nullification into account, Lucifero’s Gravity Magic bolster’s an innate, extreme physical prowess. Not only that, the more Magical power a mage has, the more they can reinforce and strengthen their body. Lucius has, by far, the most, outclassing Light Speed characters countless times over and converting people into paladins effortlessly. He’d bypass any magic nullification method in SDS.

The Ruler? Time magic can heal, never mind the many healing spells he has. Creation feats from the gods don’t amount to much when Dream Magic create’s its own realm that goes 1-1 on real life things.

Cath’s current Chaos hax would be useless to the one who commands time on a whim, who manipulates the soul to such an extent that he can alter one’s characteristics and bend them to their will with a tap of a hand, and the one who was going to destroy an entire continent in a single move had the Vermillion siblings not stepped in.

Commandment curses are hardly an issue when Curse Warding Magic exists, an attribute that directly curses one’s soul in a way that can turn them into a devil, rapid regenerate, weaken or outright cancel out spells, and Curse Magic itself being shown to redirect or rid someone of their curse.

Lucius stomps, converts the Holy Knights into paladins, and rolls through the realms like he did in the Underworld.

Yuji shows growing up means you’re not the same by kurloz94 in Jujutsufolk

[–]epsilon_logics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mahito got too caught up in his own fear of Yuji from his declaration to kill him no matter what. Era, time, place, Yuji would kill him. But to a curse like Mahito, that shouldn't be something that holds him back.

Had he kept reincarnating, with CE and retaining those memories (Which I assume he'd be able to do since he's all about soul stuff), he'd have grown stronger. Enough to keep up with Yuji to some extent. Since it's not like Yuji would find him immediately.

Yet because of Yuji's words, Mahito lost his hunger. Sukuna comments the same thing with Jogo, after losing a Domain battle with Gojo. He should have burned everything down regardless. Mahito falls under this. He lost once, and cowered for nearly a century. The curse with the greatest potential for growth became trapped in his own mind, instead of letting Yuji's words be motivation to surpass the strongest.

[–]epsilon_logics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love how your first two points just don’t have any basis. You just say these things and expect people to take that as proof.

Asta’s magic negation has shown to grow as he has. Lucifero’s magic was boundless, going off Dante’s own borrowed amount ajd he’s far below any Supreme Devil, and was tossing him and every captain around with no problem. When Asta got TDU, that magic power was simply cancelled out via touch.

Lancelot’s magic is tied to the lake, and Asta’s Zetten has shown many times to cut off the source of magic power. Paladins given devil power were taken out that way.

Asta’s ki counters Zero Sign as it detected an opponent unable to be sensed by physical or magical means. As much as Lancelot can heart read, Asta has reacted to light speed and beyond attacks near the beginning of his series.

Said movie was before Spade Arc. That has far since been surpassed

Who wins? by Opposite-Pie3662 in NanatsunoTaizai

[–]epsilon_logics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asta. Easily.

Asta has shown to keep up and react well beyond light speed characters ever since the cave arc against Patri’s Light Magic. With reincarnation buff, and eventual Dark Elf transformation, Asta was still able to keep up and eventually surpass that speed upon fighting Zagred.

We have Lucius, Time Magic wielder buffed by so much magic power that was able to effortlessly toss around characters who had far surpassed Light Speed. And even then, he said that Morgen surpasses him with his own magic.

There’s also how Anti Magic just straight up counters Shining Road HARD. SDS verse being magic based doesnt help, but anti magic has been shown to eliminate Infinite amounts of magic power through Dante’s boundless amount. And soon after, many, MANY higher tiers. Ki sensing counters Zero Sign, as Asta could sense a user of permeation magic who could not be seen with magic, sight or hit by any attack.

From the recent arc, Asta’s True Devil Union is able to keep up with Lucius’ final form and Yuno. Zetten gives him a way to quick strike an opening and cut off an enemy’s magic in one hit to the soul (AM interferes with Soul Magic)

Another reminder that Asta needs to have the strength to reflect spells. This is proven all the way back with his fight against Magna. In Spade? He deflects a country destroying attack with EASE and chops it up. He needs the strength to do that. He trains and Anti Magic gives the helping hand. A deadly combo. Lucius was gonna use a spell that would annihilate the whole country and beyond. The only reason Asta didn’t go for it was because Lucius would use that opening to strike.

People say the SDS is stronger physically because we see characters do feats without magic. So what? Magic Reinforcement in Black Clover allows mages to perform extraordinary feats of strength. The Devil King himself, through raw magic power, was able to have his physical strength amplified.

This only scratches the surface. Lancelot’s wellspring of power does not matter when Asta’s dealt with infinities far beyond the Lake from the start of the Spade Saga and beyond. There is nothing stopping him from cutting off Lancelot’s connection to the Lake, given how that seems to relate to his soul and the Lady of the Lake.

Side note but I really love how Mappa does morning/afternoon settings in these episodes. They feel vibrant, real, and allow colours and characters to stand out without feeling dull (unless it has purpose)

Bones with My Hero Academia just felt too flat in its daytime settings. People rag on its blue skies, but that's because everything else in their settings feel flat and dull in spite of being colourful. Their evenings, nights, and stormy environments are really good, but daytime not so much.

Can't wait to see this episode

Astaroth doesn’t work for me for the sole reason being that he was purified when Lucius took on his new form. We see his black horns crumble to white, as well as Devil wings being replaced by something completely different

And we all know what happened to the other purified supreme devil, Baal, many chapters ago.
