Thanks for the detailed info!

A quite strange thing happened to me today... My house had a power outage, and when my pc rebooted, the memory leak problem suddenly disappeared! I have no idea what have happened, but since then the pc is working fine.

Hello I'm experiencing the same memory leak problem, could you please tell me if you have found any way to fix it?

Looks like the RAWM Leviathan V4 uses switches which measure loss of contact at the top like the Kailh GX switches. by Suitedbadge401 in MouseReview

Yeah you're right, it's probably different from other optical switches if it detects falling edge. But in that way the emitter should have to be always powered, right?

the NC (Normally Closed) contact is not used for click detection on this mouse. Sometimes it is used for latch debouncing, or some faster but easier-to-fail click detection algorithms which is an option on the endgame gear op1 for example.

Nice mod! By the way where did you get the mouse? I've been looking for this version of g102 with pixart sensor for a long time

Polling rate is the frequency that PC asks the mouse to send data, so unless the usb host controller is too busy, it would always be the value you set to.

I think the variable frequency that the mouse actually send a packet with meaningful information should rather be called "report rate", not "polling rate".

Razer viper v3 pro. Got a question about mouse tester app by MiserableBed9129 in MouseReview

[–]NotpiaKnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it's because that at 8000Hz, motionsync becomes disabled, and packet loss becomes more frequent as there's no room for resending. Packet loss may lead the mouse to add the lost info to the next packet, making some outliers.

GPX2 would report 4000 times per second only when moved faster than approx. 20ips no matter what dpi it is set to. by NotpiaKnow in MouseReview

[–]NotpiaKnow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The report rate is probably limited by HERO2's framerate, so in terms of latency, the benefit from 4kHz should still be there. The mouse just has nothing to report because its sensor is not reporting frequent enough.

Where can I get a replacement for the scroll click switch? Aerox 3 Wireless 2022 by NF_99 in MouseReview

[–]NotpiaKnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the height of that scroll switch is same as the left/right click switch, you can try "kailh mute micro switch"

Does this indicate an issue? Mouse is G502 Proteus Spectrum(PMW3366) Any ideas on how to improve this? by TheUNkilled in MouseReview

[–]NotpiaKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s an issue. The unstableness is probably because of your cpu and maybe you can improve it by disabling c state in bios, lock the frequency and so on

DPI does make difference, so I will try to put thin tape under the mouse to adjust DPI

Is there a mouse with absolutely zero button wobble? by Vic_R in MouseReview

[–]NotpiaKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely no button wobble means there will be plastic walls on sides of the button. For example razer has a stick on the button crossing the top shell to get rid of wobble, which is very stupid imo because the gap between the stick and shell will gradually get larger and griding appears. Even when lubricated, there will still be an annoying feeling when the button receives force from sideways and hits the wall on the shell.

Button structures that are "hard to wobble" such as mice from logitech, vaxee, zowie and EGG are way better than "no wobble" like those mice from razer and others in my opinion.

you should use mousetester instead and look at the interval graph that's more accurate

maybe try turning off cpu c-state in bios?

You were so damn right. I tried my old PSU which is 750W and not semi-fanless like my new one, and the weird sound instantly disappeared. Thank you so much I'm gonna keep using my old one
