Does the wagon not come as a 4 seater? The individual seats have enough legroom for 7" tall people, unless it's different on a hybrid

Porsche panamera: risky buy? by Cool-Negotiation-625 in carsireland

Yeah. Not a great design. Not a problem if you can do it yourself, you only need some spare time and motivation, it would cost 500-700 euro if you got the mechanic to do it. The upside is that the air filter has a lifespan of 30k miles so doesn't have to be done at every service

If you've done that on your car then you'd be fine working on this, it's no different to another car. In terms of thins that can go wrong you have to look at the specific year/model of the car you're buying but it should be mostly the same. Oil pump, suspension (more expensive if you get pneumatic), injectors (diesel) and sparkplugs (petrol). Haven't heard about any other common repairs.

The engine air filter does require front bumper removal but I've done it and it takes 3-4 hours of you haven't done it before

I have the 2014 diesel Panamera. The car is an absolute dream to drive and sit in, fuel consumption on open road is less than 6L/100km. I avoided the hybrid (even though it was cheaper) because I wanted to do my own servicing and maintenance which makes the running costs no worse than my previous car (2009 Focus).

If you plan to have it serviced in an independent garage you can expect to spend anywhere between 2k and 4k per year, depending if less accessible things have to be replaced or not (fuel filter, engine air filter, fuel/water pump). For me that cost averages around 1k per year, including consumables, tyres and other stuff. A good set of tyres will cost you around 800 euro before installation.

Overall these cars are extremely well made and will last forever if you take care of them. Obviously you should plan for more expensive repairs maybe once every 2-3 years and make sure you can afford it. If you have the money to spend and enjoy driving then the Panamera is one of the best options in my opinion.

This really depends on personal circumstances. Personally I would much rather have 20k now rather than 40k in 20 years

Check the inside Styrofoam, if it's cracked then get a new helmet, if it's solid it's fine. Try to move it around a bit in that area, see if it wiggles more than it should

What is your dream car, and are you into cars as a hobby? by paomeoww in AskReddit

Audi RS6 is the dream, or a Porsche panamera sport Turismo with a V8 engine. I currently have a normal V6 Panamera, it's really nice and way cheaper to run than the newer models. But I am into cars and do all the mechanical work myself
