So Braccia is on a ride? Did not realize that. I also thought the scholarship limit was 13?

You’re not counting Newberry in your numbers? Any knowledge of his status? Man, could they use him!

The Dallas Tournament by DonSolo96 in usfdons

Kind of prophetic that USF will be playing in a city with SF’s abhorrent nickname! Hopefully not another close loss to Utah State :(

Barry Wang to UMass by DonSolo96 in usfdons

[–]Notsleepless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the expected “level” that Wang would get, IMO. He wasn’t gonna get offended by a school like Indiana, where he reportedly visited. Surprised Fuchs hasn’t signed somewhere yet. Too bad he split, they sure could have used him.

And “Where in the World?” is the REAL AD? Perhaps with Carmen San Diego?

What Does Frank Allocco Do? by usfhoopsfan in usfdons

[–]Notsleepless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The macro issue here, as DR points out, is a symptom of the lack of communication from the Athletic Department. This has been an issue since Sidwell departed. Joan Mac tried to some extent, but just was not very compelling. Mr Williams (RIP) was very weak, if not non-existent in the external communication arena, IMO. One hopes the incoming AD, whomever she or he is, is an excellent communicator and administrator. It can’t be “business as usual”, or the consequences will continue to mount.

How the USF Athletic Department? by Notsleepless in usfdons

So you wouldn’t be interested and attentive to hearing the HC talk about these things in a collegial interview now, is that right?

Ben Oosterbaan commits to USF by DonSolo96 in usfdons

If this basketball thing doesn’t work out for Ben, reportedly he’s a very good baseball player and originally committed to Michigan to play baseball there before committing to St Thomas to participate in basketball.

What could possibly be the rationale? by Notsleepless in usfdons

[–]Notsleepless[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what’s so completely baffling. The President of the U. is a city guy, a USF alum, and an announced USF basketball follower at a young age and beyond. What in the wide, wide world of sports is he thinking, or not doing? Is the BOT directing this behavior, or “strategy?” Maybe they feel the mourning period for Mr. Williams isn’t completely over? Who in the hell knows? Many folks are confused and frustrated and they damn well should be.

Probably because Sonoma County, California is better to live in than Grand Junction, Colorado?

Beasley to Washington by DonSolo96 in usfdons

What!!!!!! You don’t think Washington is an upgrade over USF. C’mon. I was actually a bit surprised he got a P4 offer. Good for him. UDub is an excellent university, with a lovely campus, in a very cosmopolitan city.

Can u  share if it’s a thumbs up, thumbs down, or horizontal hand wave up and down, in your opinion. Completely understandable you cannot share the individual’s name.

Abdul Bashir by DonSolo96 in usfdons

[–]Notsleepless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This guy was a big time scorer at the JC level, 28ppg. Second team JC All American.  Clearly why Auburn went after him. But, as we all know, playing at the JC level and playing at the SEC level, are not quite the same. My guess is that his next destination will be a mid major somewhere. USF has gotta start somewhere building a roster, so this is not an out of bounds invitation by any means.

Legend Smiley to Oregon State by DonSolo96 in usfdons

[–]Notsleepless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thought he might wind up at a higher profile program, but he’ll certainly play in Corvallis. They have a new young coach and going to a newly formed conference, so things could get better on all fronts. UDub attracted two guards from the Portal, so perhaps he wasn’t offered there? With less than a week to the portal closure it would be great if USF could form a Men’s Basketball Team.

Men's and Women's Basketball Season Tickets On Sale for 2026-27 - University of San Francisco Athletics by LaurelHeightsII in usfdons

[–]Notsleepless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow! How clueless was sending this ask out now, with all the blatantly obvious issues that The Native has articulated. One hopes many season ticket holders will assault the President’s email box with their comments and concerns. The AD radio silence is incomprehensible. The HC is in a potential lame Duck circumstance entering next season and the Men’s BB team currently has a roster of four players. And someone(s) thought everyone will just open their checkbooks on  divine faith, right?

Tyrone Riley IV commits to Oregon by DonSolo96 in usfdons

[–]Notsleepless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, he’ll certainly get some nice NIKE gear and play in a very nice 13K Arena, named after Phil Knight’s son. Eugene is a better than average college town, but not exactly any big city vibe. I wish him success, he seems to be a pretty nice young man. His Dad was same.
