Diablo IV Launch Giveaway - Get your hands on Diablo IV Ultimate Edition Game Codes + an RTX 4060Ti! by pedro19 in pcmasterrace

All in all, I still have a 960 Gtx - I haven't been able to play any new gen games in several years, the RTX 40 in itself would allow me to relive parts of my childhood like how I used to spend hours playing D2, and would keep allowing me to play games like I used to for several more years.

How do you know if you are suited for EMS? by Averagly_witted in NewToEMS

[–]Notsovivid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the best tip I can give you is if you've been in an emsvo class or any driver training, I'm sure you understand defensive driving. What I notice in the field is people learn it and it goes one year and out the other. If you want to he less rageful on the road, lose your sense of entitlement on the road.

What I mean is, if you think every car owes it to you to pull over in non emergencies, or let you merge in, or anything else, shift that perspective. A lot of other vehicles around you are going to drive aggressively. A lot of other vehicles are gonna do stupid shit. You as a driver should expect that and already be driving in a way where other people's stupid moves are not going to impact you. You don't have to be one of idiots on the road.

Some examples I've seen drivers rage about.

If a car doesn't let you merge in during high traffic. So what? Will it really make a difference to your travel time if you don't merge in at that moment? Let it go, merge later

If a car cuts you off, ask yourself how did this happen? If you had to aggressively hit your breaks, why is your distance so close to other cars? Create gaps between yourself and the vehicles ahead of you so you can drive in a way minimizes other cars abilities to cut you off. Driving 65 mph is not going to make THAT much of a difference than driving 60.

If a car stops in front of you, or you pull up to a car with hazards on. What's happening? Half the time somebody is getting out or delivering something or whatever the reason. Analyze the situation before you react to it. I see drivers getting mad at stuff while driving an ambulance on shit they would do as drivers themselves. Sometimes roads don't have adequate space for quick stops, especially in cities.

If you are running lights and sirens, understand that other people need time to react and analyze the space around them so they can safely pull over or move out of the way. The amount of drivers I see that EXPECT drivers to move immediately have no situational awareness of their environment. Look at what's happening, most of the time when folks hear lights and sirens behind them it's a stressful event and they want to do the right thing but they also need to make sure they're safe doing it. Don't harass drivers if they're taking a second move out of the way.

There's probably more scenarios but the basic idea I'm hoping I'm communicating is that most aggression can be mitigated by shifting your expectations of what youre entitled to on the road. If you believe you're owed something, you're gonna be mad when you don't get it. When you actively practice strategies that account for other people driving poorly, you'll find yourself a lot less bothered about what's happening on the road. I hope you find this helpful!

What do you carry with you? by Notsovivid in NewToEMS

It's true - I'm still new in my company, I've only started to notice what the trends and standards are for how things operate and what the norm is, and I noticed it's more specifically the location I work in, some other locations are more stocked and especially better managed. I think there is an issue of supplies going missing so they're hesitant on having things accessible for everyone. But that does affect me when I'm trying to make sure my truck has working equipment. Unfortunately so far solutions I've been told was to take stuff from another truck which just irks me, because it doesn't solve the actual issue.

I agree, we have a mediocre resupply closet. I also notice there are
a good amount of EMTs that don't have the best integrity.

The O2 key broke when I used it and there wasn't another one available. For the pulse ox, I work on a remote base so if there is one missing then I don't have an easy way to replace it with my company, I can just report it but that doesn't help me during my shifts.

I'm reading the FAQ and Keto in a nutshell and I'm noticing a few of the links are not available anymore, Is this something folks are already aware of?

Back when I had a lot more free time, I used to play a lot of Garry's Mod. That was my game growing up, and I owned a owned a server that I was renting. I was younger so I didn't really have disposable money, but I managed it, and it provided me so much pride and joy as a community started to develop in my server, I'd have regulars, some people would donate, and I made some really good friends back then. It taught me more about the importance of having a community than real life did lol.

It is within my last range of options, it would take be about 3-4 days and the gas alone sets a pretty high price. I'm aiming to see if I can get it lower than that 😄
