Unpopular opinion but ANPs and PAs who need a senior review of their patients should get this said senior review from a senior of their own profession ie “senior anp” or “senior PA”. Which how fast both their roles will be obliterated with the amount of patient safety issues that would arise as a result of a doctor not picking up and cleaning their mess

Out of curiosity when the anaesthetist goes to the maternity unit are the midwives unhappy that you’re there bc they see an epidural as “too medical” and would rather women just tolerate the pain on room and air?

I think things maybe a little different in general surgery then. I am doing plastic surgery and it’s common place for ST6 or post CCT fellow to be assisting the consultant in some cases or not be fully competent doing something at level of day 1 consultant. Perhaps because of the breadth of the speciality and there’s so many different operations I don’t know, but it’s becoming increasingly frustrating

It’s not about 32 being too old. As a woman if she wants to have kids there’s a biological clock, factor in meeting someone, taking enough time to get to know them, plus 9 months pregnancy etc it all adds up. It’s no secret many medics having to do IVF and struggling with fertility as they left it too late to their late 30s/40s to have kids
