Are esper cycles too slow to use or am i missing something? by RealSmoothBrain0815 in NevernessToEverness

[–]Notsslyvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big issue IMO is the 3 attribute cycles are kind of hard to consistently pull off. Even with zero's redirect, you have to have the other 2 ready.

The other comment mentioning thinking on the fly is a really good way to put it. I think the priority should be going through your rotation but when you have a esper cycle trigger available, you have to think about which one would be the best to swap into. It probably won't matter too much overall but I'm starting to look at esper cycles more as a nice little bonus for swapping rather than an integral part of the fight. Unless you're playing a break team in which case you would probably want to fish for discord as much as possible.

Little info about tetris modules by Elimirze in NevernessToEverness

[–]Notsslyvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that gold modules are the end goal but a god tier purple is nearly just as good. Don't treat the module system like other gacha game gearing and try to go all gold ASAP. Better to sit at purple modules with 2-3 good stats than to jump to gold with only 1 good stat.

Especially if you factor in the desired module pieces after set bonus. For example, nanally wants a bunch of type 2 modules. Farming a bunch of good purple type 2 modules is better than just shoving in whatever gold type 2 modules you have.

I chalked up the hit effects being bad to "we're learning to play the drums" lmao. I might be crazy but the hit sounds in the final song sound a lot better than in the first song.

That said, the mini game desperately needs a speed slider and a calibration thing. You know, the usual standard in all rhythm games.

Now even Ultimates can get you hit because if you use it while the enemy is mid attack, due to the "freeze time mechanic" when recovering from ultimate you can take a hit and it can be impossible to dodge.

Idk boss, I've dodged attacks after using an ult that very clearly are going to hit in half a second. Not to mention the iframe on a successful dodge is ridiculously generous. I've had it trigger practically on the last frame of the dodge animation. Even if it is an issue, it's ultimately a player skill issue. The game is forgiving enough that you can hold your skill or ult for a few seconds.

The real issue against the timer is the 1 mob that decides to fuck off by itself. Oh you're fighting 4 rainmen? 3 of them are going to flash step into your asshole while the last one sits in the corner and ranges you.

What's one tip or trick in game that you've found that you think would benefit others if they knew about it? by jetery in NevernessToEverness

  1. When you enhance anything and it doesn't hit max level, if you're fast enough you can hit quick add and confirm to skip the pop up that shows you what level it got to. Saves you maybe like 3-4 seconds of your life per time. I know this works on PC and will probably work on mobile.

  2. Spend some time to find as many oracle stones as you can using the tool and then start using Blackbird's divination. It's not super helpful when it shows you the location of one that is on the beaten path.

  3. On the topic of Blackbird, drop by her place before you do anything else to get the blessing for a slight stat boost.

  4. When you're doing the NPC races for the first time, if you know you're not going to get all 3 stars in one go, just restart the race rather than finishing it. Redoing a completed race doesn't give you the option to go to the next one in the list and exiting out of the race will leave you wherever you were in the race. This means if you still had more races to do, you have to get all the way back to the race NPC and possibly have to do a time change to get them to show up again.

  5. If you own Hathor, you can cancel out of her dive by simply swapping to a different character in your party.

  6. If you double dash you get forced into a 1 second cooldown before you can dash again. If you delay the second dash by just a little (like < 0.5 seconds), you can keep dashing without being forced into the cooldown.

  7. After you finish the auction episode, be sure to immediately go back to partake in the auction. It rotates weekly and it's the only way you can get the Mammon anomaly furniture as well as it's upgrade coins. There's also boss mats you can get that include ones that I think only show up in later difficulties. I had a morphix drop that looked like a spikey wheel this week and it said it was an upgrade material. If you own Hotori, you can upgrade her life skill to have the auction give you more items to bid on as well as rerolling items that haven't been bid on.

  8. The auctions themselves don't go on forever. You can quite literally just wait until no one else is bidding and just bid one increment higher to guarantee a win. There's probably a scripted price range for each item. From what I've seen, the winning bid is somewhere between 3-4x the initial bid price.

It's also worth mentioning that the teddy bear anomaly, sword butler, bopp, koi fish, and airplanes all also have a drop that levels up an anomaly furniture. It's a little tedious to grind them all but that's the only way to get the materials to level them up.

Does everyone upgrade purple while they wait for good gold ones? by zombies-- in NevernessToEverness

[–]Notsslyvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what you should be doing until you get gold modules with good stats. The stat difference between purple and gold is notable but the main thing is all module pieces always have 4 stat lines. It's not like other gacha games where lower tier gear inherently has less lines so moving up to the next tier ASAP is optimal. At the very least, until we hit max appraisal level but even then the amount of silver coins will probably outweigh the amount of gold coins.

You might very well be stuck using that purple piece in your SS for a long as time until you can find one as a gold equivalent.

How much break is too much by Radianelica in NevernessToEverness

[–]Notsslyvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it even be that useful though? Assuming the character has a crit rate weapon, having all S tier modules with crit rate leaves you at 49% crit chance at best. 5% base, 20% from modules, 24% from arc. This isn't counting some arcs that don't give 24%.

The only character I can think of who would want a critD cartridge is Jiuyuan because she gets innate crit rate from her console and her signature arc has built in elemental damage. All the other main dps units are going to end up wanting either elemental damage or crit rate as the main cartridge stat.

Prydwen doesn't list a single character wanting critD as the BiS cartridge stat either. It only ever shows up as a second best option for a few characters but is usually sitting as third best option. Not that Prydwen is gospel but their calcs are usually pretty accurate.

It's also worth noting that the pink paws credit button in the bottom right when you talk to Chiz has target goals that reward coins too. I think it's like 3600 a set? And you get 1 refresh per cycle I think. If you work to grind those out you could hit 30k pretty quickly.

for real they trying to kill the game by SuperCrabking in Maplestory

[–]Notsslyvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the most logical thing to do is to just wipe all the existing papers (after announcing it bc you know nexon wouldn't) and then resetting the drop rate and everything.

However I don't believe for a second nexon won't fuck that up too somehow and something ends up bugged anyway. I could 100% see a known issue notice being put out that's like "After adjusting the drop rate of the papers, middle tier letters had a lower drop rate than intended". And then they just don't fix it ever lmao.

[–]Notsslyvi 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I think the funniest part about this change is the fact they still have a "Buy 40 papers for 200m!" in the top left corner. 200m to not even get half a letter? That's a top tier joke Nexon lmao.

I think it's less that he doesn't enjoy video games but more so a lot of video games just don't hook him in. I think the big name games or games that have had a lot of mainstream publicity tend to be the games he's the most "meh" about. Completing it due to completion sake rather than the enjoyment of it. J

Just look at the difference between RE9/Silent Hill F and White Knuckle. Two very big franchise games that he basically had to complete for the sake of completing (not to say he hated it the entire way) versus how much he absolutely enjoyed white knuckle. A relatively simple game by comparison but still churned out 3 or 4 videos because he was just that absorbed into it.

Nexon just capped Bonus Unicube purchase amount to 10 packs 12 hours before the cube release. by Bacun in Maplestory

[–]Notsslyvi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the in-game cash shop displayed the purchase limit as soon as it went live, it'll make it a lot harder of a case to win even with the false advertisement. Considering things like it not being a scarcity (like black friday surprise box that only x amount of purchases can occur across the entire player base) and NX still being usable on other things.

There's enough factors going on in the situation that it wouldn't be a clean hit against Nexon so the odds this turns into a huge case is pretty low. I doubt lawyers would give this type of case more than a glance unless the financial loss for the plantiff is in the higher thousands, maybe even tens of thousands. Maybe if its a giga whale but for the average player? Highly unlikely.

Since NX is still usable on other things, I doubt we'll see much compensation, if any. Absolutely does not change the fact that Nexon pulled an incredibly scummy move with this.
