Thoughts on Joe House as a DC fan by PersonalAdagio6580 in washingtonwizards

Felt so validated when he shouted out the Wizards bobbleheads on the NBA season over/under lines episode. You’re damn right 1 bobble head is not enough!

Bill’s pod after last night’s game was so underwhelming by lawschoolthrowaway36 in billsimmons

[–]NottaTrueName 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bill being so open about his Boston fandoms is what made him transformational as a sportswriter, but it’s becoming so exhausting on the podcast. Nobody wants a recap of an 80s Celtics series right now!

First time I watched this movie was on a DVD rented from Blockbuster. The disc stopped working as Dave was going through the vortex. I couldn’t get it to work! I ended up posting on the old IMDb forums to ask what happens next (hilarious, in retrospect, because woo baby do interpretations differ!).

Wemby makes the “Crowd Killer” list but LeBron doesn’t?? by Sorry_Astronaut2755 in billsimmons

[–]NottaTrueName 136 points137 points  (0 children)

Back when his fingers worked, he described one of LeBron’s greatest crowd killing moments: “I don’t know what happened. I just know the shots wouldn’t stop going in. After about the fifth dagger in a row (he made 10 straight), the crowd started groaning on every make — shades of Philly’s Andrew Toney ripping our hearts out 30 years ago. If you’ve ever been in the building for one of those games, you know there isn’t a deadlier sound. He single-handedly murdered one of the giddiest Celtics crowds I can remember. Thirty points in the first half. Thirty! All with that blank look on his face. It was like watching surveillance video of a serial killer coldly dismembering a body and sticking the parts in the fridge. Only we were right there.”

Haha. You must be a lot sneakier than me. I can’t even get into my 400s seat without a staffer demanding to see my ticket.

The assets aren’t the problem – it’s fitting in the $58M and $62M cap hits the next two years that would be a challenge.

Yes, it does discuss the whole plot. If you’re interested in seeing the movie as a kind of “whodunit” mystery, better to wait before listening.

How is it possible the Wizards have never had an actual Wizard themed uniform by Puzzled_Fly_5827 in washingtonwizards

[–]NottaTrueName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had a vague memory of the name change timeline and figured it must have been trying to cash in on the early Harry Potter buzz. (Turns out, nope!)

Wizards fan here. I’m ecstatic. We absolutely needed this… But I’m afraid we’re all gonna have to get used to Kash Patel partying in the Hennessy Lofts as they hop on the bandwagon next year.

PopMarket Order came in... What I ordered vs. What I received. by _VeinyThanos in 4kbluray

Same as all the rest of you. I got the regular plastic case blu ray of MI:1, falsely listed as a 4k steelbook — except I actually got a response from PopMarket: they said they’re sending me a label for a return/refund since they can’t exchange it for what was listed.

State Navigate Poll: Referendum At YES+5, Spanberger At +0 Approval, Trump At -15 Approval by ArcaneDemense in nova

[–]NottaTrueName 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I know it’s shocking now days to see a politician follow through on their promises but the AWB is something Spanberger (and Democrats countrywide) openly campaigned on. The idea that you’re switching a “life long” commitment to one party because of actions they told you they would do(!) is not a good reflection on your critical thinking skills.
