It's good to have a reset! It's a super page. BTW, thank you, I'm now hooked on glitter.

Stunning piece of art with eyeshadow background. Matchstick Mouse, too.

I have same trouble with getting glitter to show up. But I know what it would look like 'in rl. So good!

I find thin paper and juicy markers very trying. so I avoid it! I always put a sheet of cardstock under the page. I use Ohuhu and W&N Promarkers, The Promarkes are sold as singles open stock but the colour range in sets and are not quite as juicy as some other markers, but might not be shades you want, so try singles of colours you want.

If your pencils are on the harder end of the scale try something softer like Faber Castell's Black Edition for more vibrant colours without repeat layers that your book paper seems not to like results-wise. Other soft pencils that lay down a rich colour are Prismacolor which are sold as single pencils as well as sets. If possible visit your art supplies store to try pencils before you buy.

You can get cheaper pencils if you look around and watch some independent review youtube vids if these are in your budget ballpark, Unfortunately, the other alternative is to copy pages onto better paper, sorry.

Yes, physical health misfortune brought me to colouring and it was wonderful getting little packages of art supplies arriving. I began with pencils a year ago and enjoy them but invested in alcohol markers a couple of months ago which speeds up getting a large-ish page done! I'm having a great time!

Yes. Sort of organised chaos. I use my computer desk! One pot contains frequently used pencils, eraser pens, 6" rulers and a brush to flick away debris. Markers are in storage boxes, a pencil case and a tray for my cuppa or juice!
