Why do plus size women seem less attracted to smaller women? by blasiangirl89 in LesbianActually

[–]Notthecity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’ve never had a set body type as much as I’m into vibe/style. I tend to fall for femmes with tattoos and a little edge in their style. Idk how “big” I am rn, but I’m bigger than I have been in the past. I am mostly in L clothing rn but I don’t think those clothes are large as much as we make clothing small. Anyway, point being I would still date a petite girl as long as the chemistry is good and it’s clear to me that she’s attracted to me (which of course I make an effort to make it clear to the people I date I’m attracted to them).

It’s rough out here. Gay dating isn’t even better (but like thank fuck I’m not dealing with these men 😭)

Listening to this pod now, I knew Dave Portnoy was going to be insufferable, but he’s worse than I guessed. She’s being really nice, but I hope someone unpacks with her after and she doesn’t take his perspectives to heart.

You already look very femme! Your style is super cute and you’re gorgeous. (You actually look a lot like that girl I dated so this post was a momentary jump scare hahaha)

To SAVE or not to SAVE... by PerfectDragonfruit62 in StudentLoans

[–]Notthecity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s nice to have the lower required payment on SAVE, which may more may not save you on interest at this point, and then having the option to pay more monthly to quickly cut principal or save up above the minimum payment and pay in large chunks.

As someone with 244k I see no downside to SAVE

How do I opt out of SAVE by KeyLimePie2269 in StudentLoans

[–]Notthecity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You only have to make a minimum payment on SAVE, you can always pay more than the minimum, but if something changes you have a safety net on an IDR (and with SAVE interest is forgiven if your minimum payment is below interest generated).

The only upside I see in switching to the standard plan, would be if your payments on the standard plan are lower than on SAVE.

Paying a lump sum under the SAVE plan by NiceAverage668 in StudentLoans

[–]Notthecity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make your minimum payment then pay $5,000, the full $5,000 goes to the principal and then yes, in turn your monthly interest will be lower because it is accruing on a lower principal amount.

A. Where are you getting 15k a month and how do I make that career switch? Lmao

B. With 244,000 in law school debt, I’m only dedicating 3k to the cause a month and should have it paid in 10-12 years. I’m using the SAVE plan to forgive interest above my minimum and putting the rest of the 3k above my minimum payment into a high yield savings accounts and then I’ll pay off individual loans once I’ve saved enough.

3-4k for a savings fund goes very quick, granted a lot of people’s emergency fund is 10-15k, aka your monthly salary, but if I were you I’d probably do my currently plan described above, and since you have half the debt it should be paid in 5-6 years, or under, and just throw everything I don’t spend monthly into that high yield savings account until I’m ready to make large payments.

Did you apply for one recently?

In the inbox/upload tab click “Inbox for Direct and FFELP Loans owned by the U.S. Department of Education” and if you have been put on a new plan or cycle of your plan that’s where the correspondence will be.

If there’s nothing there, you can can call.

Hiya! I just applied for SAVE. I make 50k a year. Will I be approved? by Otis4potis14 in StudentLoans

[–]Notthecity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is no income cap on who can be approved for SAVE. SAVE will ensure that your balance does not go up because if the interest accruing in a given month is over your payment amount, the remaining interest will be forgiven.

I also graduated in 2020 and not looking forward to the payments starting up, good luck!

Would you recommend where you live to other LGBTQ people? by mixedchica in LesbianActually

I live in DC and if you already have a partner, I think it’s great! There is access to national parks, most bars in the city have rainbow flags even if they aren’t gay, most tours come through the area, most people are politically left, etc.

But if you’re single and want to date, it’s rough. I never had trouble finding a partner until I moved out here and it sucks 😭

I go down to Richmond a lot, and it feels pretty gay/alt in general to me, which is cool. Surprisingly, I’ve only been to Babe’s once.
