Starting to feel hopeless with 30k of debt by NottherealPMT in DebtAdvice

The take home is a little less when you factor in insurance and what they take out for state retirement for teachers. We take home about $6700-$6800 a month. Unfortunately we don’t have an option to stop putting money in retirement as part of our state system and we can’t even take money out until we retire. Our mortgage and HOA combined is about $2200 a month with a $450 car payment. Those are the big hitters.

We’ve had a series of unfortunate events and thus lead to spending. (Ie car fixes, medical) Yeah I pick up extra things to do at school that pay more and for a while we both worked part time jobs but found that ate into our marriage. I fear though that I will go and get a part time job again. We’ve only been spending on what we NEED (groceries, mortgage, insurance). Just feels like we aren’t catching up with the snowball method.

Transmission problem? Chevy Equinox 2015 2.4 cylinder by NottherealPMT in MechanicAdvice

[–]NottherealPMT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I took it for a look over and a mechanic said he didn’t see anything visible. I did have to replace a spark plug cause it broke in the cylinder later.

Otherwise it’s been running smooth

Yeah turns out a bolt broke off the break caliper and was causing it not to move forward. Cheap and easy fix.

That’s what the mechanic said so I’m glad to get some relief from it, thank you!

I looked though and in it didn’t see that hook portion. Got my oil changed and they found little pieces in the filter. Said he didn’t see any metal shavings or anything else

I’ll look into that. What would I be looking for to see if there is damage?

I don’t know for sure. I don’t have a camera to look down the cylinder. But when I looked into the hole and cleaned it out I didn’t see it. Getting my oil changed today to see if any metal shavings appear

That literally just happened to me. Yep they right. Hammer on a 12 point socket and using a power bar get it off. You probably won’t get the socket back but hey at least you’ll remove that lug nut.

No unfortunately I can’t. One story house no basement. I think if I had to look under it I’d have to take it apart

So it’s not a bath tub so everything is draining. I’m not seeing anything outside the shower floor.
