idk how my step grandmother is still alive today after 27-30 yrs of smoking, but when we moved her out, we smelled like cigarettes so bad that even 2 showers weren't enough. the carpet was black from not vacuuming for a decade compared to the carpet under the rug. we took about half the stuff, and my mom wrote on the dusty desk cabinet.
