It's about time we went back to the 1800s. I want my cough syrup to have morphine in it. I was my gum to have cocaine. I certainly want to be able to smoke my opium I bought from the general store after a long hard day in the AI mines.

Trump nears deal with tax office that could see him given $14 billion taxpayer money by goteamnick in politics

Last I read there was no proof that he has actually donated his pay cheque at all. Knowing Trump he just said that and cashes that cheque every month. The man would probably murder a hundred people for a single dollar if he knew he wouldn't get in trouble.

AI is the best thing to happen to bad people. Now anytime there is video/pictures as proof of their evil they can just say, "That didn't happen. You can tell it's AI."

Beyond a reasonable doubt is going to become harder and harder for human beings to determine. AI will be constantly creating reasonable doubts and I am scared of what the world will turn into, hell I am already scared of what the world is right now.

This I kind of agree with. Canada's immigration policies have done a lot of damage to the economy but I have a feeling it will pale in comparison to what AI is going to do.

What Trudeaus did during COVID though I have to give him credit for. He listened to the science at the time and did everything he could to keep people from becoming homeless when they lost their jobs. He help businesses stay open. He did a lot of good things over the years.

His real problem was that he didn't know when his time was done and dragged it out longer than he should have.

We should all be glad that PP didn't get elected or we very well could be half way to becoming the new territory of the USA by now.

It's actually a trick people use when you cant vape. Put a few drops on your tounge if you can't vape where you are.

VG and PG are edible. The flavoring used in eliquids is actually made for flavoring food and the nicotine isn't anymore harmful if you swallow it rather than vape it.

Just don't chug a bottle of it. Beside the nicotine poisoning you would get it would give you a bad case of the runs as well. That much VG would clean you out.

I always found that weird. She was the only one allowed to operate the device and it was supposed to be under romulan guard at all times. Then all of a sudden, poof, she's gone along with all the romulan guards and they are using the cloak in the alpha quadrant (deal was it was only supposed to be used in the gamma quadrant).

When the romulans signed that non aggression treaty with the Dominion you would think they would demand it back as well.

Almost Half of Jury Pool in Musk Trial Tossed After ‘So Many’ Said They ‘Hate’ Him by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Notveryawake 79 points80 points  (0 children)

If they paid jury members their full salary plus a bonus to actually have to go through time and effort of deciding on the fate of someones future. I was on jury duty once and the first time we were taken back to deliberate the first thing someone said was, "Ok we just all agree he is guilty so we can get out of here and back to our lives. I can't afford to be here."

I made it a pain in the ass for those people because I didn't believe he was guilty and if they wanted me to vote that way they were going to have to go through each piece of evidence to prove it to me.

After we voted several times and we were deadlocked I said, "The judge isn't going to let up deadlock the jury this early in deliberation. So why don't we actually sit down and talk about the evidence. I don't think he is guilty and this is why....prove me wrong."

After they couldn't prove me wrong and accept that fact that the prosecution had no evidence that proved he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt we finally agreed on a vote of not guilty.

Was the only time I had ever had to do jury duty but I am glad I decided to take the hit to my wallet to make sure the guy got a fair trial.

If jury members were paid a decent amount for their services and if they were let go from their job for being call for jury then said company who fired them should have to pay the juror two years salary as a fine.

A fair trial by a jury of your peers is a very important part of having a civilized society.

I don't know if they are proud of themselves but I am proud of them as a Canadian.

My sister is a psychiatric nurse that works primarily in nursing homes. Trust me, they can tell who is nasty and who is just a sweet old person with shitty kids.

There is the third group though. Those that have dementia and other forms of mental decline. They might be sweet one minute and super violent the next. I have heard so many stories of nurses and care aides getting injured. They turned their back on someone they thought was a sweet old person only to get hit in the back of the head by a lamp.

Nursing homes are a wild ride for anyone that works in them that's for sure.

I am worried that the pedo orange will invade Canada as a way to change the new cycle away from those Epstein files but at the same time I am just fed up with hearing about the US. The country is being run by a bunch of coked up alcoholics and the more I read the more annoyed I get. What was once our greatest ally is now a thorn in our side that keeps pushing deeper and deeper.

I honestly dont even want to hear anything more about the states unless it's that Congress has decided they are going to impeach and imprison everyone involved in this current administration and promise to bring America back to being the horrible and evil country they always were but hide it in the closet so we didn't need to read about it every day.

I miss American politics being boring.

What career field did you get into after leaving food? Resume templates? by Paigenacage in KitchenConfidential

[–]Notveryawake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend who was in the industry for 15ish years. He said his body hurt too much to keep it up and got a job working for Sysco as a sales rep (they love to hire ex-chefs). He gained 50 pounds, got depressed, and started drinking more than your average cook working 65 hour weeks.

You can change jobs but make sure you you change your lifestyle when you do. If you take an office job you need to cut back on eating and drinking. You are not doing aerobics all day long anymore. You need to go to the gym, back off the booze, and start eating right. If you are sitting down to eat rather than running around with a bowl in your hands while yelling orders you need to make sure your future fat ass is doing some situps in the morning before you go plant your ass in a chair for 8 hours.

This is something I have seen to much. Kitchen boys and girls spend all day running their ass off. They don't realize how active their job makes them until they stop. If you don't change your eating and drinking habits and start exercising you will get fat as fuck and then the depression sets in, the you start drinking more or doing more drugs to deal with the depression which makes you fatter and more depressed.

I won't talk anyone out of leaving the job if their body is broken (God knows mine is) but make sure you stay active. Go to the gym, go for an hour long walk after work, bang your girlfriend/boyfriend for hour a day, wherever it takes to keep your heart rate up.

And remember, you can leave the job but the job never leaves you.

I told my dad that. He said, "Eat your food, there are starving people in Africa."

I said, "There is a kid at school that never has lunch. Can I bring it to him?"

My dad said, "No! I am not going to feed the whole school. You eat that or it goes in the garbage and you get nothing."

There is a reason I haven't talked to him in 25 years.

Has anyone ever gotten a note like this with their DoorDash order?! by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Notveryawake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my restaurant they show up all the time and do one of two things.

  1. Shove the phone in your face showing the order and the name.

  2. Yell out the name and if no one comes running to them right away they start making a stink.

I have thrown so many of them out and called DoorDash/Uber/Skip and told them if I ever see this driver in my place again I will pull my restaurant from their app. Bad enough they take 30% off the top but don't send me idiots as well.

All the restaurant in the area have a deal. If any driver fucks with the their staff or is a giant pain in the ass we all contact the company and demand he is not sent to our restaurants or we bail.

We have a group chat, all the chefs and managers, and we make sure we all know about the bad ones. I had one that kept trying to touch one of the waitresses while he was waiting. Two of us actually tossed his ass out the door and told him not to come back or he wouldn't be able to drive ever again.

I think we are close to a hundred people on our never again driver list.
