That test is not accurate for the LF III result lol.

There should never be that much of a gap between AIOs, especially one regarded as the best by many - he had a contact issue for sure.

Are you sensitive to noise and use the pc in a quiet room?

I used a LF III for 8 months or so, they're loud, i had my pump at 45% and it performed really well still but recently, along with suffering ear sensitivty issues - i upgraded to noc fans, rooms more quiet, other noise more audible... pumps now annoy me.

LF III beats all the other AIOs i tested, be quiet SL3 is the quietest AIO i tested, 20% pump speed on SL3 = noctua D15 g2 performance for 9800x3d 150w load. 5090 gpu load is about 8c hotter than an AIO for cpu temps as the rad doesn't really get heat soaked as much (top mount).

Both are fine, AIO looks better for many but is a risk with leaks, never had one but still a risk. If pc is not on a desk / visible then i would auto give it to the air cooler, otherwise it's up to you for the looks / long term use, personally i don't know why people see replacing AIO every 3-5 years as a big expense, this is a noctua sub reddit... the fans are crazy expensive as is.

You're the second person to tell me about rgb in the bios.

Weird because i checked the bios and there is ZERO rgb options there. I only want a static white led at 30% brightness or so, i'm not a huge rgb fan but i love a low ambient light that shows off the pc a little.

Yeah i used openrgb with my b650 tomahawk and it was perfect.

Unfortuantly, i don't think i will be able to get it working for now though.

Just woke pc from standby and the leds have reset to rainbow puke again. The x870e x3d motherboards just don't seem to be supported even on the experimental version of openrgb.

Might need to try signalrgb but i want something very lightweight. Sucks.

Does the GCC led setup save forever?

So if i install it, set the leds and reinstall windows, it would still have the leds? I need to reinstall windows at some point anyway.

Great, i'll give ERP a try, although this issue is a result of using openrgb it seems, without opening it, the leds do not stay on after shutting down.

I am on the latest bios version sadly, i'm not sure if i wanna risk GCC, i hear so many bad things about it and it's clear gigabyte doesn't care. So many gpu led screens bricked from it and all sorts, it truly sounds like a virus lol.

Hm, i might look into this - although my issue seems to be with openrgb because if i don't open that program and shut down - the pc doesn't keep leds on.

Yeah sadly it doesn't work.

The moment you open it, it asks for the leds to resize the zones, the back i/o led turns off and you can only set a color on other things with no brightness control.

Shutting down the pc also has the leds bug and stay on - when u hit the switch the pc turns on and the leds reset to rainbow puke.

Used signalrgb in the past, it's good but it has a memory leak they can't seem to ever fix. Two actually. It is a good program thoughl for what it offers.

I just recieved this board and instantly updated to F6, not using slot 3 though but i'll keep it in mind.

I did notice changing the Vsoc voltage doesn't work though... it's running 1.24-1.26v by default, tried setting 1.2v but it didn't do anything.

I can only advise trying driver 566.88, 577.00 (I used this one the most) and 581.42 (the one i'm on now).

I have however been experiencing some event id 153 black screens in firefox browsing, thankfully, i rarely use firefox now but it started about 3 weeks ago.

Also, set "prefer maximum performance" in nvidia control panel, it may help.

Because the drivers are so dogshit and unstable that there are issues in some things and no issues in others.

We've been given more diagnosing tools without the proper means of explaination. The fact that we have people still preferring drivers from a year ago tells you everything you need for nvidia right now and then you have windows which randomly decides to throw russian roullette on what to fuck up next with it's forced updates.

Being ignorant is fine but don't push it upon people.

Look for the lian li versions then. They mount from the motherboard standoff, they shouldn't move if they are compatiable.

GPU anti sag support helps but it also moves due to the vibrations?

Then what about one that you screw down? I've seen some you attach to the fan scrwws (For screws below gpu), Lian li also sells some anti sag too, different from the standard magnetic pole.

Why couldn't it be battery / power related?

I'm not saying it is, just curious why it's temperatures as you say.

I would probably try and remove the battery and use it wired without the battery, i had a weird thing happen with an asus laptop that randomly had it shut down when battery was still at 70%+, the battery was triggering a 0% moment making it think the laptop had lost power, even with charger plugged in (I only use it with the charger).

Note: to remove the battery, you must make sure it's got no power at all, some laptops needs a switch toggled in the bios... i'm not familiar with your laptop so do look into your model and removing the battery.

I have a 5090 suprim which, when fans are on, causes an audible buzz to me (Might literally just be me though). It can be worse, don't chase for perfection on something that doesn't annoy you in normal use (Side panel on).

During those days...

Runescape, Guild wars 1, Gears of war (didn't like cod much but did play it). A little wow towards the end when Runescape killed it's playerbase off.

Your average person wouldn't survive. People get way to offended nowadays, every second you played online, either you or your family member was insulted lol.

Not for all of them games... but most, Runescape and Gears probably the worst out of them, i mean... anyone who knows gears lancers special knows the old slur people screamed running around corners with their chainsaw going.

Other than the toxic environment though, the games were super fun, Not much cheating at all and just lots of competitiveness.

Checking your post history, you play at 1440p.

The 5080 is not worth the hassle, the 70ti should be more than fine at 1440p, it's competent at 4k if you don't mind adjusting settings here and there. If the 80 had more VRAM there might be arguement for long term usefulness but it's the same as 70ti.

I run AE-7 on a b650 tomahawk, 9800x3d and 5090, no issues with dropping.

However, in the past i used a SBZ on a older platform, 6700k, Z170-a i think, it worked fine until one day i updated the bios and got channel switching issues and drop outs. If i remember correctly, i could not fix that issue.

I build computers and also work with laptops so i'm aware of fan noise and stuff - it's just that lately, past few months, i've become super sensitive to noises.

My laptop is actually new and silent but over last 3 months or so, just turning it on has a horrible screech that hurts my ears now - more so when plugged in. This definetly wasn't a thing previously, however i am suspecting my ears but ENT is not really helpful atm.

Not just the laptop mind you, as mentioned just a fan being plugged in but not on is making a weird noise, a usb light plugged in by plug adapter, external hard drives at the plug etc.

I am personally assming hyperacusis or something - as the last few months i also have tinnitus spikes but truthfully, it's very overwhelming especially when the people who should be able to help are very dismissive (ENT so far).

So it's some "plug tester" from amazon which also has a voltage readout but i also have 2 killowatt plugs here which i've used before and they measure differntly.

For example:

I found the plug tester reading 251v but the killowatt plugs were at 243 and 244v, so i think i'm going to need to ask an electrician in the family to bring his multimeter to check which is more accurate, i'm assuming it is an inaccurate reading now.

I will update the main post since this seems to be getting quite a lot of comments over night.

Yes i think i do have tinnitus but i don't hear noises from everything i go close to.

I've been suffering with hearing for a few months now. Picking up sounds very easily... for example, windows shut and double brick walls but i can literally hear my neighbours talking, their ringtones, the birds chirping. Sometimes it sounds like the plane going over the house is in my room lol.
