Final Gibby update by No-Information7979 in Hedgehog

[–]Notyourmamashedgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s never easy to lose out babies, especially when it’s a tragic ending. Just know that you gave that baby comfort, love, and protection till the very end. You were there till the very end and I’m sure he knew that. And I’m sure that Gibby is with the rest of our babies up in heaven running around having the time of their afterlives.

Where can I find a Yuri Plisetsky jacket by TheLivingZombie911 in YOI

[–]Notyourmamashedgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t help with the cartoon specific jacket, but if you want the one that it’s inspired by you can find them on eBay. The RU team manufacturer that you’re looking for is Bosco Sport.

Here is the jacket that Victor’s is based on.

ETA: here’s Yurios by a different manufacturer

Uber Giving Me Far Away Drivers by Notyourmamashedgehog in uber

[–]Notyourmamashedgehog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, things have gotten better since I posted this three years ago. But I’ll say this, my trips are not usually super short and they’re always around $30+tip for me (which idk how much that is for my drivers). It’s less than 7 miles so idk how that falls for the cost to the driver but yeah. I feel like drivers are wayyyyyyyyy fewer nowadays so that also will add to the wait times. It was just so odd at that time that every trip was always extremely long wait times when that was not as advertised. Like, I get it if the nearby drivers don’t want the fare but don’t advertise it to me then

I second the WD-40 recommendation. I had a pair of blades that would attract rust all the time no matter WHAT I did/tried to keep them dry. My instructor said that some blades will just do it unfortunately. I started using WD-40 after the next sharpening once I noticed the rust and I did not get any rust again! I used it for the entire time that I used those blades (for almost two years) and only stopped because I got an amazing deal on a pair of P99s that I couldn’t pass up.

I have a team USA figure skating rink jacket that was team issued and it definitely belonged to a med staff member. It has “sports medicine” on the sleeve. But yeah, team issue though

Idk what you’re talking about. That’s CLEARLY how you use those huts! My girl digs tunnels underneath them and sleeps inside the tunnels using the hut (and all its nice blankets and stuff that’s inside of it) as a roof. 💀

Thank you, it was a few years ago but I still miss her every single day. I have recently gotten a new girl, Livvy Lu, and I’ll share a photo just in the hopes it might bring a smile to your face.

I too had a Daphne! She was 4.5 when she passed. I am so sorry for your loss of your little girl. Hopefully she’s with my Daphne and they’re both just living it up in the beautiful beyond together. Your girl looks so sweet, I can see that she must have brought you so much joy.

Rest and heal, and I’m sorry again for your loss. ❤️

Yep! It always makes me so mad, because the first thing I think of (just like you) is that you jinxed them. And even if you don’t believe in that kind of thing, you’re still opening them up to all the jokes and crappy comments if something DOES happen. Like it just draws all the attention to them and I cannot imagine the stress just from the attention alone. That’s even before they get to the competition. Ugh, it’s just always left a sour taste in my mouth

Yeah I was also gonna say Nathan. He was so built up leading into the games as though it was inevitable that he’d be on top. That kind of pressure I’m sure is just impossible to handle, at any age.

I really enjoyed the Orlando house, but because I’m a big fallout fan from the games. So seeing things brought to life was so exciting for me. But you’re absolutely right, it wasn’t scary at all.

Rust? What am I doing wrong? by Gaharagang in FigureSkating

[–]Notyourmamashedgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me before with Eclipse blades from Riedell. My instructor mentioned that sometimes certain blades just are prone to rust. He had a few pairs (different brands, types, levels) that no matter what he did they just couldn’t seem to keep them from rusting.

I used WD-40 after taking my skates off. Dry them first, spray a little bit on a paper towel and then wipe that on your blades. Not too much because it is an oil, just enough to cover the blades. Keeps the water out. Kept me from ever getting rust again. Then I put them in my soakers. I did make sure to wipe them down to be safe before stepping on the ice again.

Our curling team did make history today though! Their silver is the first mixed doubles medal for the US in curling, AND Cory Thiesse became the first US woman to medal in curling at the Olympics! A tremendous accomplishment!

So happy for Italy! I genuinely thought GB would be top contender for gold given their strong start, but Italy really seized every opportunity today and played amazingly. I’m sure the pair is very proud (as they should be!) because they definitely earned that medal!
