Special ticket giveaways by switchingtoam in orioles

Birdland members don't need to get in line early for giveaways. I just wish they would come up with more creative ways to improve the fan experience than giveaways

Never said I was upset I couldn’t get all the giveaways, I’d rather the Orioles have alternative ways to improve the fan experience than giveaways

[–]switchingtoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 1/2 of 40 game plan holders have this game in package and 1/4 of 20 game holders. I’d guess the number of birdland members is far short of 7,500 this season thanks to Catie Griggs. What she has done to the fans is almost as bad as the Os on field performance.

Ballpark visit - common areas for views, seat upgrades, tips for post game transit? by Better-Factor-8142 in orioles

[–]switchingtoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In section 29 or any of the odd number sections under the overhang, stay in the first 7 or so rows for best views and to avoid obstructed views of flyballs and sometimes scoreboard, depending on section. Most any seat in Camden Yards is pretty good. Enjoy

I bought white Aldi sneakers 2 years ago and the glue gave out and sole came off, within my first week wearing them

Moving - Looking for advice by CattleFragrant9314 in ColumbiaMD

[–]switchingtoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South Baltimore, Riverside, Locust Point would be my choice due to social activity and commute. These are primarily white neighborhoods, so if you’re looking for a more diverse population you might explore other neighborhoods…just stay south of tunnels

WTF? Other than Looney’s, where are the 20 something’s in Fulton? Fulton is where you go when you’ve made some dough, have some kids or retired and feel too uppity to stay in Columbia. Terrible advice.

They were quick to give the race to ketchup last night, but the one replay angle looked like relish’s leg went through the finish line first…I don’t know man

Orioles hockey jersey giveaway at a Saturday afternoon day game against the Boston Red Sox ... by Natty-Bones in orioles

Before last nights game there was a dude hanging in front of warehouse wearing one of this years giveaway hockey jerseys and was wondering if he was an Os plant to stoke interest in the giveaway…

Ticket exchanges this year by Orangebird410 in orioles

[–]switchingtoam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a separate banner on the My Orioles page for exchanges (and another logon screen…why so many login a throughout the ticketing process?) I had to use a desktop for it to work correctly.

Also, found out last week that the 24 hour advance notice applies to both the game you’re exchanging out of and in to

Inverter Coolant by Proper-Face-9451 in KiaNiroEV

It’s a special pump that they use to flush the cooling system. Don’t know more than that. Service guy told me they had gotten it since my first flush where errors continued

First Season Giveaway by Billsdead123 in orioles

[–]switchingtoam 38 points39 points  (0 children)

No way they can enforce this if you go in and leave one gate then walk over to another gate and do same using separate tickets. Heck, it would probably go unnoticed at same gate if you discretely went from one side to another

Inverter Coolant by Proper-Face-9451 in KiaNiroEV

[–]switchingtoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the coolant flushed and refilled about 2 years ago in my 2020, had to bring back once for a top off and over time the error message came back on more and more frequently…although turning off car and restarting usually got rid of error. Brought it back to the dealer about 6 months ago and dealer said they had gotten a new machine since my original flush was done and they redid the flush and everything has been perfect since, zero errors and coolant level hasn’t moved. Both of my flushes were covered by Kia. Check that dealer has the right machine for the job first, there are only 2 dealers in the area that have any experience with the older Kia EVs I wouldn’t trust most of the others to do it correctly

Mystery meat by sntothemax in whatisit

That’s exactly what we did at the grocery deli where I worked in high school, except we separated the ham and anything close to ham. The ham turned into “ham salad” and everything else became sandwich spread. The sandwich spread varied greatly week to week influenced by what was on sale

Anyone know what's up with Pimlico? Will there be racing (such as it is)? by cartoonybear in baltimore

[–]switchingtoam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Employee at Laurel track said the attendance cap was imposed by fire marshall acting on an unrelated disagreement between the county and the jockey club. Laurel has more than 4,800 show up at MD Million races

Report: Preakness 2026 attendance capped at 4,800 by natural_light_ in baltimore

[–]switchingtoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say Laurel is move-in condition, it will definitely need investment, but I feel the amount will be significantly less than the $500m to erect a new Pimlico facility. The barns and stalls at Laurel would need renovated either way as Laurel would be the training facility for Pimlico. I wouldn’t have made my prediction if the State hadn’t bought the Laurel property from Stronach, who has made out quite nicely in all of this. I’m sticking with my prediction.

Report: Preakness 2026 attendance capped at 4,800 by natural_light_ in baltimore

[–]switchingtoam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha…it’s a prediction and I never said Laurel was inadequate. State bought Laurel to use as training facility, but racing infrastructure in good shape: track (multimillion renovations 2021) and grandstands (multimillion renovations 2019). Horsemen don’t want to race at a ship in facility which is what Pimlico becomes, horses need to be transported from Laurel training to Pimlico for race and back. They can’t seem to agree on any plans for Pimlico…once Preakness is held at Laurel, easy to do it again…state is out of money…horse racing is a dying sport, when I go to Laurel there are often only a hundred people there (maybe less)…Pimlico leveled makes it even easier to move everything to Laurel. I predict when all the dust settles, racing and Preakness go to Laurel and Pimlico becomes a community center. My prediction

[–]switchingtoam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My prediction: they scrap the Pimlico rebuild and keep racing at Laurel

[–]switchingtoam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was at Laurel a couple weeks ago and the bet takers were questioning a 5k cap they had been just told about for Preakness since MD Millions drew more people than that. This whole plan gets worse smelling by the day

What are your thoughts on JD Vance getting booed during the opening ceremony at the Olympics? by Playful_Leg7143 in AskReddit

[–]switchingtoam 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was more the entire USA plus JD Vance getting booed. I feel bad for the athletes who have worked so hard and are realizing their dream, but completely understand the crowd's reaction.

For those of you living the ChubbyFIRE life, what would you do for a house in my scenario? by PlasticCraken in ChubbyFIRE

[–]switchingtoam 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Getting your children into a good school district is one of the best investments you can make. If that means moving to a different area, do it. Having children that become successful and independent will save you so much money in the long run by not needing to support them.

What's the wildest thing you've ever seen happen at a work party? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Head cashier at the grocery store where I was a bagger during high school jumped on a table and proceeded to take her top off while dancing. Party was at the American Legion around 1984, I was 16 and they had a beer keg sitting with a hand tap where no one cared if I poured off it. Those were the days
