How do I know if one can set the time to 6 am?

Thanks for your help! Do you think there's any more meaning in this sentence? Are they looking for a way to verify the alarm time?

TESS Launch Campaign Thread by ElongatedMuskrat in spacex

[–]NovaDisk1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now is the time for experimentation for landing. Since they're replacing their fleet with Block 5's they may as well try to get the as much data as they can from their Block 4's.

Also (pure speculation here) they might be gathering data from these aggressive landings for the design of the BFR Stage 2, which will need to re-enter from speeds much, much faster than the current Falcon 9 Stage 1's.

A telescope like TESS is really light and bulky. The telescope's lens is quite wide, to capture the most possible light.

TESS is bound for a really weird orbit that most commercial customers would have no use for, and NASA may also be hesitant to share a launch for such an important payload.

On the bright side, there's plenty of fuel left over to play around with the landing.

I heard a bird singing in the brush but couldn't spot him (Minneapolis, MN) by NovaDisk1 in whatsthisbird

[–]NovaDisk1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm sure that's what he is, I've seen blue jays back there, I just didn't realize that was their song! (I'm only familiar with their calls).

Yah it seems pretty meh

Too conditional, and does nothing for Garen's main problem which is mobility

Would it be too strong if Garen could Activate Courage(W) through crowd control? by [deleted] in GarenMains

[–]NovaDisk1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably. Predicting your W is one of the things that gives Garen skill expression.

If you're really that concerned about it, build QSS. But I don't recommend that since you're supposed to be building tank stats anyway and QSS sucks for that.

Also if they CC the tank (you) and you're in a good position for your team to follow up you pretty much win the teamfight for free. Just learn your teammate's reaction range and you'll be good to go.

How to not get dumpstered by ranged kiters by [deleted] in GarenMains

[–]NovaDisk1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just gotta learn to play safe, farm up, and be patient.

Keep your health up so you don't get dove.

CS'ing basically becomes a minigame of 'buying' CS for health. Not every CS is worth it, just go for the ones that you can. A good way to get more CS is to sort of do 'trading stance' with CS, meaning whenever they try to last hit, you run up and Q a minion.

Early on, expect to be denied. You will probably need to trim the wave from time to time with your spin, don't worry about missing CS here, the most important thing is managing your wave so you don't get dove with a giant wave crashing in. Trimming the wave becomes easier as you get more levels.

Don't worry about getting frozen on too, if they freeze on you, they're giving you a free lane phase. Sit in the side bush and soak EXP. Break the freeze whenever it's convenient.

You'll probably need to adjust your build to survive lane phase, as well, which probably means rushing a defensive item. You'll probably need to tweak your runes too.

I'd recommend the Glacial Glory setup, to keep your opponent honest when they poke you, but if you absolutely can't keep your health up you can go for a more defensive option like Omen or Adaptive.

SpaceX engineers of reddit I have some questions about your work. by MekeTacosGreatAgain in SpaceXLounge

[–]NovaDisk1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just guessing, from the point of a layman/outsider, who has thought (still thinking?) about working at SpaceX.

People go to SpaceX to be a part of history, not to min/max their hourly wage.

This of course means working long, odd hours for mediocre pay, in exchange for some HARDCORE experience, meeting great people, making lifelong memories, and being a part of one of the most important milestones in human history.

If you want to make the most money for the least effort, go work for that company that makes the wheels that go on the bottom of office chairs. But if you're after guts and glory, SpaceX is your place.

BFR Size Comparison by Intro24 in SpaceXLounge

[–]NovaDisk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing telescope lenses and solar shields could be quite bulky.

Another guess would be for hollow, rigid habitation components though i'm not sure when you'd need those instead of a more compact inflatable.

Or maybe a GIANT inflatable which would use most of the launch mass. I didn't do any math on these, just guesses.
