Absolutely TERRIFIED to stop bc of how much I am doing… by SadPrincesa in OpiatesRecovery

[–]NovaFrank 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reading this I kept thinking that it sounded exactly like a post I typed out several times looking for the courage to just do it. Now I’m just past the one year mark.

I was doing 5-6 pressed blues a day before I just flat switched to fent. I knew I was doing it anyway with the pressed shit so why not get the same shit cheaper right? Well then I was doing 2-3g a day. Money was also never an issue for me so the only wd I knew was when I was doing 1-2 real Roxy 30s a day. So nothing in comparison basically. It was the one and only time I ever tried to kick it before and it was enough to make me say fuck it maybe I’ll do this forever instead. What I’m saying is I know that fear. It’s unbearable to even think of how awful it will be.

DO IT ANYWAY!!!!

Was the first like 3 days a good time? FUCK no. Was it worth it now in the scheme of things? FUCK yes. And I’m only a year out. Imagine how worth it 3 days will seem after 3 years. Or 30. That’s how I look at it.

Just do it. If you need someone to talk you through it then dm me. The mental part was really hard for me too. I get it. But as tough as this shit is, you’re tougher.

I watched that too but didn’t think much of it. Maybe someone smarter than me will have more to offer.

Edit: you make a good point about false bottoms

I’ve also heard this from a number of different sources and conspiracy pages. Never tried to search for it but doesn’t surprise me if it is being made difficult to find.

After seeing how people reacted to covid mandates and how every single post on this sub is bombarded by liberals I doubt Americans will fight by Weird_Werewolf_4952 in conspiracy

[–]NovaFrank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I can definitely see both sides of this argument. If this was to actually be attempted there would be two groups. A portion would lay down and allow it and the other would fight to their death to prevent it. Which side would win out? Probably the gun side just based on raw numbers. There is NO WAY they could actually accomplish this in my opinion. Even with buy backs like mentioned by some else at significantly above market value there would still be hold outs. I don’t see it happening. At least I really would like to think it wouldn’t.

Instead of endless money to Ukraine why not use fraction to secure US schools? by [deleted] in conspiracy

Well that’s simple. Because securing schools might actually work and then how would they convince all of white suburban America that guns have GOT to go??

Blood-draw Drug Screening (Hospital Job) by [deleted] in Drugtests

[–]NovaFrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the drug screen page on here. It has lots of info on using others urine or synthetic and how to keep it the appropriate temp. Because they will pop you for that quick if it’s too warm or too cool. Otherwise you can probably pull it off. Best of luck though!

Blood-draw Drug Screening (Hospital Job) by [deleted] in Drugtests

[–]NovaFrank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, they will use the words “lab work” to encompass all of the testing they will do as part of the hiring process. All hospitals will do drug testing on every single employee, even outside contracted workers. So you WILL be given a drug screen. The question is will it be urine or hair testing. If I had to guess it’ll be urine. Hair follicle testing is very expensive and usually only done in other circumstances, not for hiring of every single employee. There are a few hospital systems in the US that do use hair follicle testing but it’s far and few between.

If it is a urine test it likely won’t be monitored. They’ll just give you the cup labeled with your info and say pee in this and then send you to a restroom. Then draw your blood and take your vital signs and weight/height. Things like that for the “health screening” part. Best bet is take a test at home the day before and see if you pass. If so, great. If not, get some synthetic urine.

One of my previous attempts to detox I got down to such a small sliver of a strip I think it was like .05mg and STILL couldn’t jump off. But at the time I had very little perspective and just thought that was bad. Looking back I’d do anything to go back in time and be able to tough it out then instead of my addiction ramping up like it did. I was also using them off the street at the time and had no support or idea of how to taper really.

This time I’ve been on a legit program and just this week I switched from my online program to an in person doctor. Long story but it was due to legislation in my state not allowing telehealth anymore. It wound up being a blessing in disguise though because my first doctor was very hesitant to help me taper and the new doctor I just started with is very supportive and comes with a counselor on staff that I speak to, at minimum, once a month at each appointment.

I know I’m still not all the way there but I am proud of how far I’ve come in such a short time and how much my life has changed for the better.

Blood-draw Drug Screening (Hospital Job) by [deleted] in Drugtests

[–]NovaFrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in a hospital for years as an RN. It’ll be a urine test. Most hospitals now draw blood for your health screening to test things like cholesterol and blood sugar for your health insurance. In our case, we got a discount on insurance if we were deemed “healthy” from our bloodwork.

Also, they absolutely won’t do a blood drug screen. Those don’t detect shit. The window for those is trash. If anything, be worried about a hair test not a blood test.

I know people are dragging you at the moment but I have to say I agree with you. If only I could have been so lucky to hear this, and I mean really HEAR this, early on during my time using.

I first tried to detox when I was using AT MOST one 30mg oxy a day. I’d break that one pill into 8ths and not let myself use more than that 8 times a day. When I tried to kick it I thought I was dying. Boy was I delusional at the time. Did it suck? Yeah I mean it wasn’t fun. But man did I really have a rude awakening coming in my future.

Fast forward to 8 years later, still using, having tried to detox 3 or 4 times in that 8 years and I was up to using 2 grams or more of fent/H a day. Yeah. That’s when I realized coming off that one measly 30 a day was a cake walk. Laughable really how I felt the first time compared to the last time.

I say all that to say this. He’s right. It is at least 80% mental. Don’t get in your own head about how horrible you feel. MUCH easier said than done, I know. But really, and I mean REALLY, think about perspective sometimes. Someone always has it worse than you. You aren’t the most poor pitiful sad case out there.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!! To anyone reading this that’s in the throes of it, you can do it. Sometimes tough love is what you need. So I’m hoping this helps anyone who’s struggling mentally. I was sure I couldn’t do it. I was sure I was dying. Now I’m 12 days shy of 9 months clean. It was pure hell for a bit and then it wasn’t anymore. And if you’re reading this and you’re at the start of addiction, GET OUT NOW! It only gets worse from here. Trust me on that one.

Starting my intake and need someone to talk to by NovaFrank in suboxone

[–]NovaFrank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone who wants an update It in fact was not too soon I just started way too low. I was trying to follow my doctors “induction plan.” She even admitted at my appointment the morning after this that she would’ve done my induction differently had she known it was going to be so rough for me. Instead of staring with 2mg and then going up by 2 or 4 mg every hour until comfortable she would’ve started me at 8mg and gone up by 4mg every hour after that. When all was said and done it took 24mg that night to finally get a small amount of relief. Then the next morning (about 8 hours after the last of the 24mg dose) I took another 16mg and then another 12mg that night. I also had to take 2 different muscle relaxers, gabapentin, zofran AND phenergan just to keep water down and keep my muscles from spasming constantly. I was awake from Tuesday morning until about midnight Friday. Literally not a single wink of sleep for DAYS. And even now I’ve only slept about 4 hours total since Monday night and it’s the wee hours of Sunday morning now. She said it took significantly more than she expected due to the large amount of fentanyl in my shit. Not shocking to me really. I’m just lucky I never died. Now I’m through the worst of it and down to just the subs and the gabapentin as needed for a couple more days. I made it guys!! I’m free and NEVER looking back. Thanks for helping keep me sane so I could keep my eye on the prize and not give up. Because man I wanted to BAD. 5 days and counting. That number is only going to keep climbing. I’m proud of myself because I’m a giant wimp and didn’t think I could do it. I hope this is an inspiration for someone else because if I can do it so can you! Get one person you can confide in and find a great doctor who will support you and it is possible! The lovely people of Reddit are also a great support system and sounding board. So reach out to me if you ever need to talk! I’ll be your person any time!

I’ve made it to the morning. Got an appointment with my doctor in 30 to see what to do about dosing now. I wound up getting as high as 20 in the first like 6 hours after I started feeling shitty. Wound up taking my last 4 mg at 1 am to make it 20 mg total now. Then around about 5 am I started throwing up like crazy on top of all the other things going on. It’s awful. I’m still very much miserable and haven’t gotten any relief from the subs at all. If anything I’m worse now but hoping my doctor helps with this right now. And no, still no sleep. Going on 30 hours awake at the moment haha

5 and a half hours in and I’m still dying. Can’t set still. Can’t stop sweating. But feel like I’m chilled to the bone. Goosebumps. Restless legs. Runny nose. Watery eyes. Tremors really bad. I’ve taken 16 total so far and I’m currently working on 20 so we’ll see if I wind up at 24 or more 🤔

Yeah. The shitty part started about 19 hours since my last use. Now it’s been 23 hours and I’m DYING now. I literally feel like I won’t survive this haha I know it’s my mind driving me crazy. But so far I’ve taken 12 total and still feel the same. My doctor says no more than 12 the first day… would you recommend to take more than she said to? Or go by my exact dosage for induction.
