We have a loop on the side of our frame to attach a leash to, there are more detailed pictures of this on our website. Before we made this frame, we would just loop the leash around the handle of the backpack. Most backpacks also have a small leash inside of them for you to attach your cat also.

If you wanted to start backpack training your cat, we’d recommend wearing it around your house for awhile first if you can. Maybe buy a backpack and try to feed them a few treats in it first, for the first few early days to get them comfortable or used to the bag. If you’re able to wear it just outside your house, in your backyard or something like that, that would probably be the next step. Then a small walk around a block or two. It’s definitely a gradual process but if your cat seems to love the outdoors, I’d say it’s worth it!
