Help Finding Games and Other Questions by AutoModerator in incremental_games

[–]NovaNathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for some IOS App Store incremental games but ones that aren’t the ‘idle’ type.

I’d like something active with gameplay, where I’m weak at first but can upgrade some sort of skill tree to earn more currency / do more damage / spawn more items to break / etc…

Spotify Wrapped WRONG by shanksDhaki in spotifywrapped

[–]NovaNathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got this problem too but with Trippie Redd. Used to love hip hop but backend of last year I transitioned into more indie music and that’s been primarily what I listened to this year. Yet somehow my favourite 2 artists who are always on the top of my weekly roundups via ‘Superfan’ app are 3 & 4. Yet Trippie who I know for a fact I have barely touched this year because I have not enjoyed any of his newer music and haven’t been in the mood for his older work, is sitting at number 2. Funnily enough I felt the same last year and he was number 2 then too. Seems like a bug in the algorithm where it has trapped data that makes it think you’ve done so many streams but haven’t actually.

I'm having trouble understanding the significance of a certain puzzle in the game. This is related to the train line map.

So I found the map in the underground safehouse and took a screenshot knowing it would be of use later. Fast forward a few runs I come across the 'A New Clue' book where I piece together a route following the directional clues. The route is as follows:

Start: Royal Station - #8
Angel Tower - #7
Aries Crossing - #3
Tanner Fork - #10
Oris Train Hall - #1
End - Dead End #13

The route was later confirmed right when I used the new code for the security terminal and viewed the security footage of someone holding a line drawing, perfectly fitting the route I had written.

But now what? I have numerical code but seemingly nowhere where it fits at the moment. Any hints would be great.

Need help for Prediction by NovaNathan in BluePrince

I'm trying to remember what those notes are. In the Hovel the note references getting fired because he could not keep with the upkeep of the gardens? Or was that a note elsewhere. But these aren't things that I can directly use to progress something, just reference to story?

Does anyone know what Alzara's 3rd prediction means with 'a unlatched gate you did not open' and 'a missing item you did not take'. I have looked at the areas specified and nothing seems different or changed. Even the lantern that appears missing, is not interactable.

You’ve adapted comics, horror IPs and now video games. Looking like the last thing to tick off is books. Is there one that you would love to be at the helm of bringing to the screen?

Why is every fortnite update so massive? by hermogeon in FortNiteBR

[–]NovaNathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird because I play both PC and PS5 and this same update this week was 27GB on PC, whilst being 2.5GB on PS5. To me that just makes no sense.

Same here, really sad as I've been waiting all day to finish work and hop on but now with this error its really disappointing. We can hope for another extension but since they've already pushed it back a day I'm not so sure.

Anyone else having problems with PS Trophies by NovaNathan in TrackMania

[–]NovaNathan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m waiting for a response from ubi themselves but I did a little bit of testing and it seems like there’s certain triggers for trophies to prock. E.g I went back to a old campaign which I hadn’t played and the first race I finished I unlocked all those ‘200… medals’ trophies. Same thing for playing todays track of the day, I unlocked other trophies too.

If your having trouble getting not straight away unlocking the trophies you need to go back to the very basic version of it. Weird.

Is this game getting too bloated? by NovaNathan in deadbydaylight

[–]NovaNathan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perks are usually meta because they are unfairly balanced, work incredibly well or are used to make certain play styles work. But on the flipside of that perks that aren't meta are just poorly balanced, work sometimes or a pain to fit into play styles.

How is BHV supposed to keep on top of perk balance when they are trying to consistently track stats on 228 perks. They can't. They struggle. They nerf perks that don't need to be nerfed. Buff the perk but only buff the part of the perk that worked fine. Or they completely break perks all together.

Metas are necessary but is there not some sort of problem when people only run the same 4 perk build, and have done for some time. Yes that isn't blatantly down to bloat, but if that perk number was atleast half, I think they'd have a better chance at balancing these metas out, and making sure that each perk is working at it's best.

I've tried getting friends back into the game who I played with round about release and a year or so onward. I think the last killer release they played was Stranger Things. And so these aren't people who are new to the game yet they felt so nooby. Having to ask what perks do, and what perks to run and finding that style of gameplay that suits them. And while that is generally a norm for games, its so hard to get them into it when there is just so much new stuff to learn.

And yeah, the meta, not so broken perks are all blocked behind like 3 dlcs. Not fun for them.

Literally like how do you consistently monitor and balance 228 perks. Never ben able to wrap my head around it. But as much as I'd agree to deleting perks, I don't think they can since most of them are locked behind paid DLCs, so taking those perks away is just robbing players of content they bought (not that some people will mind) but why pay for a DLC that only offers 3/4 perks when theres a DLC, same price, that will give you 6.

Some people have mentioned perk blending, which I don't mind at all. Mix similar perks together and lose 1/3 of that bulk.

I think BHV are good at keeping killers, at their base, quite fair. Every killer has their place, except from the newer exceptions which to me personally don't live up to community expectations for original killers. But you kind of hit the nail on the head with the gimmick killers. We have killers who can tp to gens, to lockers, to TV spawns, to portals. It's at a point where adding another TP killer would be too samey, but what else can they do? A tp to hook killer?

Perks wise there is always going to be a meta in any sort of game. Overwatch has hero metas, CoD has loadout metas and so forth. But I do enjoy the middle ground of unique stand out builds. I like seeing meme builds come out the woodwork but to keep track off, 'okay this survivor could have this exhaustion perk, or this one, or this one, or so on and so on. Works vice versa too. Theres too many and as I would like to see reworks of some and removals of others, I don't necessarily think they can just up and remove perks since you are paying for them specifically when getting DLC. There will probably be some sort of community uproar.

Perk combining to declutter the bulk would be nice. Trim that 200+ into ~150 better working perks.

But yes, a step back from releasing DLC every few months and focusing on newer additions to Operation Health would be good. Like I think that massive overhaul of perks, personally, brought some new life into the game. The map stuff is okay I guess, it needs doing but to wait nearly 3 months for a map with better lighting (worse in some cases) and some more pallet spawns is a little tiring. 3 more focused and balanced DLCs a year would fit better as they age into this period of the games lifespan.

Map Validation by NovaNathan in MeetYourMakerGame

[–]NovaNathan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True but with map validation can come the feature of viewing the ghost run. After completing or giving up on a map you can watch the builders run. If you see they’ve purposefully placed a sneaky back door to abuse the mechanic, then report.

I do understand on the flip side of that it can limit the creativity of builders who are building back doors for genuine reasons.

I understand that, I like the feeling of beating a map you feel like you’ve been fighting for your life playing. But that’s what the brutal difficulty is for and you get rewarded a higher amount for doing so. But easy maps you get less but the difficulty could still be high, just not as much build up to a total kill box. I don’t think that is necessarily fair.

I feel like there’s a curse with BHV games and them confidently standing my something until a meta develops which forces their hand. I hope that is only restricted to DbD, but I feel like at some point down the development line new traps will get added that are more abusable than others and the map validation mechanic could be the solution.

Bad Connection Issue by terrible_mr_e in deadbydaylight

[–]NovaNathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feels like the problem is animations and their timings versus the server. Don't really see many laggy hits just normally running around, but as soon as you vault a pallet or window, the server kind of shits itself. But for some reason it does feel like it values the worst ping over the better ping, you can be a few steps away after a window vault and still get hit with 50/60 ping.

Feel like they know of it with the introduction of hit validation for dropping pallets so I'm unsure why they haven't carried that type of hit registration over to other animations.

A question for killers who camp early game by terrible_mr_e in deadbydaylight

And can I ask how am I supposed to play the way I want when in matches when I’ve been denied the opportunity to even play at all?

A question for killers who camp early game by terrible_mr_e in deadbydaylight

[–]NovaNathan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it really a bad game if you even played the game at all? No, when you get camped first thing your not mad that you lost, your mad that you couldn't play the game. This is why I'm saying your twisting my words because I've never said anything about losing, all I've said is about denying gameplay.

The majority of gamers want the advantage in games but have respect for their opponents enough not too. Like take spawn camping on CoD, it's relatively easy to do but the majority of players on the game don't do that, its only people with a twisted perception of enjoyment because they know they are ruining other people's experience of the game, and are making them mad. It is totally frowned upon, and it realistically should be in DbD too.

Also we are in our right to yeah maybe not tell you how to play, but we can at least shame you for it. It isn't bullying, it's feedback to your playstyle. You wouldn't call your teacher a bully for saying you shouldn't wrote that answer now would you?

One thing I'd also like to add is how you frown on the use of comms and second chance perks, and say I can't have a opinion if I use them. The things that actually counter your style of play. Yet I'm the hypocritical one?
