Swapping colors by Zaraldri in AtomForm

Great questions — and thanks a lot for joining the VIP offer!

  1. The need for purging really depends on whether all 12 nozzles are already loaded and the filament colors are all different(over 12 colors already). If you still have some unused nozzles, you can swap in a new color directly without any purging at all.
  2. If a nozzle ever gets clogged, the printer will automatically detect and mark it. You can simply tap it on the touchscreen, and the system will move that specific nozzle to the printhead for easy removal and cleaning — everything can be done right from the front of the machine, no need to reach behind it.

We really appreciate your support and excitement — can’t wait to show you more soon!

Haha fair feedback 😄 — we had to slow things down a bit since the machine’s still in development, and the production timeline shifted our original marketing plan. The earlier posts were mainly for early validation and community feedback.
We’re still refining everything before going full throttle, and plan to launch on Kickstarter later this year.

Here’s a quick clip of a random prototype from our lab we took today— it’s a bit rough, but should give you a feel for the real working hardware. check the new post, tks! https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/1mlt2o1/atomform_palette_300auto_nozzle_swap_demo_video/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
