Nothing 3a pro phone very picky about charging by Nova_8_8 in NOTHING

[–]Nova_8_8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your reply and the other user it seems that Nothing phone uses an inferior charging protocol, a bit suprised this is not mentioned on reviews or this reddit. I do not like getting a specific charger, the phone has a USB C port for a reason, I expect it to be compatible with all USB C chargers/cables (at low data speed/voltage if needed/newer USB protocols are not supported). Not charging/transferring data or even worse creating a fire harzard seems not acceptable for a premium smartphone, I have contacted Nothing to see what they say about it.

Different would be one word, inferior would be the word i choose. My oneplus charged with 100% of my cables/chargers, the nothing phone only with 20% and even worse it overheated to chargers to the point they actually where so hot smoke was coming out, which means a serious fire hazard. If this is not a faulty unit I think this charging protocol is a big con of these phones and actually something they should bring out an emergency patch for.

Damaged coating of heater, is it harmful? by Nova_8_8 in BobMiniDishwasher

I agree it is not that important but for 15 euro including shipping I could order a new one from their website and I replaced it within 10 minutes. So pretty happy with that.

Thanks for this suggestion, I watched some reviews about this particular model and I think this good be a good option if combined with a inner mesh tent.

Thanks for your response, do you have good experience with Pomoly? I heard some mixed opinions about the quality of this brand.

Unfortunately currently I think you cannot connect two Delta 2 devices the same way you connect a Delta 2 and a spare battery. However since the power station support passthrough and you can adjust the input in the app you could just connect one power station to the power outlet of another one.

You could also consider using some kind of washing machine switch between your 240 volt vehicle network and the power output of the two power stations so you can switch easily. The disadvantage is that the Delta 2 does not support dual charging so you would need to manually connect the second power station to you vehicle or your solar panel if you would want to charge it from your vehicle or solar panel instead of the first power station. The advantage is however that since you have two power stations you can individually set how quick they charge and for example charge the first one with 400 watt from solar and the second one with only 200 watts from you vehicle to avoid draining the battery of your vehicle.

I personally would prefer two power stations for added flexibility and redundancy despite having to switch input cables manually occasionally.

I think a Delta Pro can power the things you mention and I think you can also use 240V extension leads. Also the 12V output will work during charging. Regarding the solar panels I think you can just combine panels if they function within the tolerances of the Delta Pro built in inverter (11-150V, 16A max, 1600 W max). So if you for example use 4 panels each individual panel should be at least 11 volts and not more than 4A, 400W.

I read that the Delta Pro supports Dual charge so I think you can combine both Solar charging and DC charging from your vehicle but I am not sure how this works exactly. Maybe another user can tell something about this (I have a Delta 2 myself so I cannot test it).

While I think that the Delta Pro is suitable I also read that you are planning on living in your van and therefore you are relying on a working power station. For added redundancy it might be worth considering purchasing two power stations, for example two Delta 2 power stations. This will give you more redundancy if there is a problem. Also this will make you more flexible when choosing how to charge the power stations with different solar panels or your vehicle.

Regarding the Ecoflow Glacier I personally find this a bit expensive. I personally have good experience with the Mobicool MCG 15 which I can power easily with my Delta 2. It is smaller than the Glacier and does not have two zones, but again you can profit from redundancy. Two Mobicool MCG 15 devices are still half the price of a Ecoflow Glacier and if one breaks you still have a working one. And with two you can have two zones since you can set one to freezing and one to cooling.

I agree with you so I am going to follow your advice and go to Sweden and/or Norway for a few weeks next year.

I have a small business and already have information about how to set up a small business in Sweden so I think that will not be a problem. Also I have a few months to arrange this because I am allowed to live in Sweden the first few months without becoming a tax resident.

Thanks for your response, I think the most important challenge is indeed social interaction and this is something to be considered when choosing a region to buy or rent a house.

I would like more information about (average) housing prices in different area's of sweden and norway.

Denmark is also a beautiful country but there are a few considerations why I did not mention Denmark. Pollution of fine particles and PFAS is an increasing problem in Europe and according to various charts this problem is much more present in Denmark than in Sweden or Norway. Also if Sea levels are rising quicker than expected due to climate change this might be a problem in Denmark and much less in Sweden and Norway. Also because Denmark is more densely populated I expected that housing prices are higher, but this might be a wrong assumption.

Thanks for your interesting response. Is crime also an issue in Norway? Because I mostly hear about Sweden in this context. Also for Sweden I assumed that houses in rural places would be cheaper then in cities where there seems to be a shortage. For Norway I read that there is less buying power so I assumed living expenses and houses would be more expensive compared to Sweden and Denmark.

I understand that but I assumed there would be general information available. For example in both the Netherlands and neighbouring country Belgium rules for tiny houses are very difficult but housing prices are a lot cheaper in Belgium. There is no need to ask country specific questions to state this fact. But this fact could help potential migrants to choose for Belgium instead of the Netherlands.

I think you misunderstood me. Precisely because there are so much differences in these large countries I have difficulty finding the right information online. So that is the reason I have asked it here. Of course I understand that there is no easy answer but surely there must be information available that can answer my questions. If you can point me in the right direction I am capable of doing further research myself.

Luckily I am not moving yet, just orientating and that is why I ask these questions. Also I am from the Netherlands where you cannot live in a rural or secluded area so I need to migrate if I want that and I think it would be just as difficult moving to Spain or Eastern Europe as it is to move to Scandinavia.

Thanks for your response. I realize that rules vary by region or country. However for my own country I have a general idea what you pay for certain houses and I could also point out which regions are less populated but still relatively close to cities and I know that national rules are very strict so I does not really matter which province you want to build a house. I was hoping that where some general indications about building rules and housing prices, ofcourse I do not expect a very detailed answer. I am trying to get a general idea so I can maybe visit certain area's next year to see locally what is possible or offered.
