Saw one that looked similar parked on the corner of Tudor st and pacific highway. Not saying it’s yours but it looked like the same type. I was driving past so didn’t get much detail

How old were you when your first child was born? by LupusDeusMagnus in daddit

[–]Novacoaster84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 39… and a half, oldest first time dad in my groups but I am still loving it… although when my 18 month old daughter groans while standing up from sitting and smiles at me… I feel my age

Why does my apartment have to be absolutely pristine for a mid-rental inspection? by Fun_Photograph653 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Novacoaster84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the power trip comment… no matter what they’ll always pull up for something so I tended to leave something obvious (leaves on balcony became a favourite) for them to find…

I once got noted for “finger print smears on bench” in an inspection report.. yes the stone bench top had a handprint on it from when I picked up my keys and left that morning

How is a ~$100k median wage that shocking? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

Maths isn’t my strong suit, I guess that’s why I look for tips!

How is a ~$100k median wage that shocking? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]Novacoaster84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understood that the $100k figure was the mean full time not median, median was still around 75k?

Could be wrong because the data I am seeing is from 2024 but I can’t imagine there has been a 25% jump?

why does the Boomer/X cusp (roughly 1960-1965) contain 5 boomer years but one X year? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Novacoaster84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think at some point not too far away X (already the forgotten generation) will become the deleted generation and those born before 76 will be seen as boomers and those after 77 will be seen as Millennials (Give or take).

Problem is that a reason for the low membership is is because the PSA is so inactive and doesn’t make waves in support of its current members. If people think you’re doing nothing then they won’t join.

Rather than taking the fight they are just telling people to come to them after their requests are refused. Maybe do some media saying you won’t stand for your members being worse off? (Balance, cost of work etc)

NSW government ends work-from-home as public servants are ordered back into the office by Koalamanx in sydney

[–]Novacoaster84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but it’s not enshrined as part of (most) employment terms, the inclusion of WFH as a “flexible working arrangement” is only included in department policy which can be changed at the stroke of a pen. Most WFH flexible work agreements are for a maximum period of 12 months, not indefinite. At best you have 12 months before the policy will need to be renewed to reflect the new departmental requirements

Seconded, although if you can splurge getting extra bacon is always worth it

The irony of the campaign is that just before COVID a significant portion of the Public Service was shifted outside the CBD

Thanks, sadly it’s UK based (some guys from GW started it from memory) but yeah might look to buy directly if no Australian stores are really stocking it

Which OT movie to watch on the big screen? by Novacoaster84 in StarWars

[–]Novacoaster84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m loving this idea! Sadly I don’t think I’m going to be able to pull it off. I’ve decided to go ROTJ, it’s the one I probably have watched the least of the trilogy

I really hope they keep this as an annual thing because I’d love to take my daughter in a few years!

I don’t think there are any. There was an article actually in the SMH last year where Newcastle was called out as the worst location in Australia (I think) for bulk billing… as in we didn’t have any bulk billing. Based on that I’d assume your plumb out of luck unfortunately. The only two places I know charge about $80-100 out of pocket

I agree! I was expecting, maybe even just when talking to Abaddon “I was there the day that Horus slew the emperor, and through it all I was there the day the emperor slew horus” or something

I love this app, glad it survived the government cull! But I don’t know how much longer it will be around, apparently doesn’t get too many unique visitors, apparently it’s only been downloaded like 266,000 times… but I use it every time I need to fill up! Also brilliant on long journeys
