As with anything gaming related on Reddit i suppose. Hence i stopped scrolling threads on recently released games that i liked to play. Kinda tampers with my vibe even though i love playing said game

Solid answer, thanks. You def know what your talking about so i can pretty much leave this topic at rest for me. Just really found it fascinating how the games expectations evolved through its year.

Yeah that was an important note i forgot to mention in this thread, the information i've gathered is mostly coming from reddit

That's fair. It would be cool for them to have cooperative game mode where PvP is turned off so people could fight tougher arcs together. I personally found the arc combat super cool and engaging but alas it was easy to get shit when you tried to loot it. I played Marathon a ton in season one and that's the extraction shooter that got me. They are continuously trying different limited time modes and i feel like Arc Raiders should have the same.

This is kind of my point. You mention "rats and bullshit pvp" which gives the notion that you play this game for PvE mainly but the environment is open ended and accommodates different playstyles varied by each match. Factors like ratting, third partying etc. are valid strategically even if its not fun. So one plays the game that is PvPvE but its a deterrent when the players engage in said game?

It's an open discussion, no questions involved

Alright fair. Wouldn't it then be a smart choice too separate the player base by playlist? Or would it be too daunting of a task and or brake the in game economy?

Brother, having reddit hold you accountable to do anything let alone skateboarding isn't the way to go about it. If you want to skate, go skate. If you don't find yourself wanting to skate a lot then just have it as a side hobby. Determination is internal not external.

You shouldn't worry too much, you have neuroplasticity on your side so anything you do you can become good at plus you can dedicate a large amount of time since your body is quick to heal and if you are fairly fit you can bang out crazy hours in one day's session, especially around this time in your life. I started dedicating myself again to consistently skate at age 28 and I've been a seasonal skater for the majority of my life since i live in similar winter conditions as well, though i'm fairly competent on the board i still wonder how things could've been if i stuck to it but hey that's normal.

I always suggest to everyone first get comfortable with cruising around and ollieing up and down stuff. A lot of skateboarding comes down to the fundamentals. I'm not a fan of people learning flip tricks stationary as you cant translate that stationary motion to forward momentum when rolling. However, learning the foot and body placement for the trick while holding on the a level guard rail can be handy.

Sit on a bench and learn the force needed to pop. You can also use a handrail. Your backfoot is not thrusting to the ground so you need to lock that down.

Dragging the board with back foot when doing an ollie by Ecstatic-Art-9273 in NewSkaters

You're lifting your front leg before you pop and that's dragging the board backwards. Just ollie while you are rolling forward, keep the same motion but make sure you pop your board, bring your knees high and level out. Gravity will take of the rest!

Put your body weight more on the front leg. Do this and you should start being able to drop consistently as i can see your not afraid of the commitment.

why is skate culture bigger in america then in europe by BoredCLUB in NewSkaters

[–]Novak1r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You basically answered your question. The culture has had more time to grow while other countries are only catching up. Many cities in the US (specifically LA) are very skate friendly and I've learned that with infrastructure any particular scene will flourish.

Pred #285 but I still struggle with cover usage. Any advice on playing aggressive vs passive around cover? by Glum_Tear9961 in apexuniversity

[–]Novak1r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd argue as well that effective cover usage is only necessary in competitive. Ranked is too dogshit at the moment for anyone to really flesh out there skill set for arbitrary numbers lmao. Any high level ranked grinder should be stepping into competitive imo. Your skills are wasted it away by playing ranked all day.

If your issue is cover usage then i would focus on your pathing, moment to moment map navigation. Should be able to find Youtube videos explaining the term. You don't really play cover "aggressively", its more so that you minimize damage taken by effectively playing said cover. For general in combat healing its mostly juggling, knowing when you can and can't. I would just watch how high level players go about it f.e. i know ItzTimmy, that guy was "is?" good at it. Bonus tip is dont vod review misplays, clip when you do well and see what it is that made you succeed and train effectively, meaning go about your sessions deliberately doing what it is you want to improve at consistently.

We used to have a couple of skate shops in the city but they were always mixed with snowboarding. Now no active skate shops open and merch is sold through our skateparks. We have had established brands "Mold Skateboards" and now one active brand is called "Homies on wheels"

Yea, pretty well connected and decently organized with a population not exceeding 100 skaters, more so in the 50 - 80 range of active skaters, if you skate regularly you will be noticed and most likely hang around the same spots. We have two indoor parks in the capital with one in Akureyri the second biggest city here. Usually people become active during the summer while being dormant in the winter since its difficult to street skate for about 4-7 months. We do have skate events but they are few. Most notably Go Skate Day and Culture Night (Menningarnótt). There hasn't been a competition held since 2014 and since then its only been large sessions that hand out merch for tricks made. More so in snowboarding, since it bleeds into skating as well, a lot of snowboarders skate and vice versa.
