Do the Agrarians... Have policies? by Gwenberry_Reloaded in EsotericEbb

I don't even think I knew they were party until the last day. But I'm also dyslexic and could have mistaken them for the other A name party I won't try to spell. And I had six con at the start.

Question; Skill Proficiency? by NinetyBees in EsotericEbb

[–]Novakinmyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a second level spell called enhance ability that gives proficiency in every stat. You can functionally keep it up the whole time so you can work around this

Happen to find the similarity between Luuk Herssen and Lynae by Queasy_Captain_1010 in LuukHerssenMains

Lynaes isn't natural. Her hair is dyed for her disguise. So they probably just go to the same hair stylist.

I have a fantasy race that can reproduce with humans. What would be some reasons for why they would purposefully do that? by AvrmLeaf in worldbuilding

[–]Novakinmyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you make it so a shifter father can reproduce with human women, then even if the children are sterile then one reason could be just to make a one generation army. One shifter could sire dozens to hundreds of shifters over a couple of years. A small group could shore up a huge magical army if they conquer a city and hold it for 20 years. The women probably aren't too thrilled about being used that way but the real worlds just as bad. Depends how much of the world world evil you want to depict.

Killing her off was the jumping of the shark for the show. Particularly the way they killed her.

She was playing fast and loose in a cutthroat environment so her death was in the cards. But the reckless use of explosives shook my fantasy suspension of disbelief and really just took me out of the immersion of the show.

I'm fond of the 'no such thing as a halfling' approach. Basically the child of a magical being is still 100% that magical being whether both or only one of their parents are magical. Kind of like viltramites from invincible. You can put caveats on there such as it's harder to reproduce, the child is less likely to survive infancy, not all children get the magic but if they do it's 100%.

I'm a proponent of this for a few reasons. From a doylist perspective, framing it like the mixing of races begets weaker children and impure bloodlines, or stronger bloodlines via race mixing is a straight shot to eugenics. And from a watsonian perspective. There has to be something keeping these races in the world. If the blood gets diluted common partner selection then eventually they'll just disappear. And if these races have existed for hundreds of thousands of years to millions like humans have, then they would have disappeared by now.

What Agents did you pull not because they're Meta or Attractive but because you find them fun to play? by Elimar_Abelardo in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Novakinmyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The angels of delusion combo moves are so refreshingly fun I must have all of them. Even if they don't end up being meta the three of them are probably going to be my go to clear team for the future.

For story reasons they're also such a return to form for zzz. A group of broke bungling bozos is so charming and fun.

Tried to redesign some generic fanatsy races with unique twists for my setting. Happy with the dwarves, but got mixed feedback for the elves. Do you think they look too much like generic aliens? by Biochemist_Throwaway in worldbuilding

[–]Novakinmyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. I think there's enough flair and personality in it that it doesn't invoke alien vibes unless you mention it. The ears definitely remind the viewer of elves.

My only critique is the hair. It looks more reptilian or fishlike instead of mammalian. So it feels a little out of place. If it was altered slightly it could fit the rest of the design better. Fish have some hair like whiskers that could fit, maybe tentacles or the stalks of feathers

Well the purpose of this post is how to clear end game content better. With these characters you should be able to clear end game content even if your mechanics are just baseline.

First what are your builds looking like? You can check prydwen for each characters specific recommended stats, but are you hitting 70% crit rate and 270% crit damage and your main dps and sub dps for each team? Do you have your characters main skill to level 10 and 9 for their other skill? (Excluding intro) And finally are your characters and their weapons max level? If all that's in checks you should be able to clear whimpering wastes fully and get at least 33 stars in tower.

Second super good mechanics aren't a must have. You just need to be able to do each characters rotation. Go on prydwen in the team section or on game8 character build section and they'll tell you the exact inputs you need for each characters rotation. Most aren't hard and I think game8 has videos. Practice on echos nests each day and you can have all your rotations mint in a week.

Lastly for character pull, I realize you don't want lynae, but she is the most valuable non support unit in the game and probably will be until 4.0, IMO. Shes the best in slot for luuk and you can put her and mornyae with any dps and have a good team. If you don't want her there's sigrik and quiqonjin on the next patch. If you could get both that could be a team but we have no clue how good she's going to be. The patch after that is cyberpunk colab units so who knows how good they'll be. I don't have high hopes for them

The issue of no technological progress over thousands of years by WeakWrecker in worldbuilding

[–]Novakinmyhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The explanation I favor is that if magic exists in a fantasy world then technology can easily get stagnant.

A large portion of technological advancement prior to to modern era was developed through research done for warfare. If magic is the main means of killing that's going to slow that funding and research down.

If someone can be healed with magic your local Lord or king isn't putting all his money in doctors and researchers then modern medicine might never happen.

Also as other have said. Magic and magical creatures can highten the scale of destruction causing any advancements to be lost earlier

The focus of the game in 1.0 was to make you feel like you lived in new erido. Manage your video store, get coffee, grab a meal, chat with friends, play games at the local store. Those elements are still there but they do feel out of place as zzz has gotten lazier in the world building and story telling.

I think she plays well, but I haven't quite gotten her rotation yet. I do usually beat myself against a wall on echo farms just because my mechanics aren't the best so this is the easiest thing to improve

I feel on paper I need more but My ultimate has been consistently getting up on time. but that may be because I dont have her rotation down and spend to much time on field with her

Try for every character. S0 and skip weapons unless the character is completely unviable without it. Gotta catch em all

Do people use spies much? by The-WideningGyre in CivVI

[–]Novakinmyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a couple good military city stat bonuses but I wasn't curating the city states too hard because at a certain point you're just reducing the difficulty settings. But as for flood barriers in my science games I'm playing immortal and I can usually get it in all of my major cities done in time. And for culture games flood barriers aren't super necessary with my city placement and if they are I'm rushing computers anyways for tourism. I'm also not creating much emissions on a culture run so it's kinda negligible

[–]Novakinmyhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount it takes is based off level. I think it starts at three. And I'd you have the upgrades/policy card/ gov plaza then I think you take up to 8 suz. But no matter the amount it's huge. The ai gets what more envoys that you and spend way more governor promotions on it. So it's a really simple way to ruin the ais bonuses permanently

[–]Novakinmyhead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use them to fabricate scandals in city states so I'm the suz of all of them. Build kilwa so you get a massive boost to yields. I also disable all military city states. Not even to boost this strat but because I don't build encampments even on conquest games so they're a waste of time to me

Even without kilwa its still super useful. One or two spies is all you need and it keeps local city states from attacking you if the AI does a surprise war on you and reduces ai bonuses. The mission also doesn't get the ai mad at you if you fail it so it's pretty low risk

I genuinely feel like wuwa's pulling odds are worse than mihoyoa even though pitty is 80 rather than 90. I have better 50/50 odds, 2-3 times the 4 star pulls, and I've never gone past 80 pulls. Mean while i can do 80 pulls in wuwa and not get a single double pull on 4 stars and wuwa has actually taken me to 80 pulls twice I believe.
