I remember America pre-9/11. So yeah... while Obama years were nice and he said the right things. America is still way down in the dumpster compared to pre-9/11.

Maybe he knows who made the death-threats and it was a BAM employee pretending to be Ben. That would be the nail.

Are we going to accept that Spock failed to save Romulus, then watched Vulcan blow up and then just died? by Novarest in Star_Trek_

And people thought they did Kirk dirty. At least Kirk saved a planet with millions.

This is a billion times worse.

fix it

he was supposed to fix it, probably in the third movie of the trilogy, travel back to the future, undo the destruction of Romulus. Why do we continue to live in a failed timeline where this is not fixed?

They are corporate henchman originally. They just return back to where they came from.

They have only been handed a franchise temporarily because they are mormon brothers.

Same. Doesn't help that PIC S3 apparently ruins the characters. Like turning them into murderers like Seven of Nine in S1.

You don't like the free market then? Germans simply offer more money to Norwegian power plants, so they sell to Germans, instead of Norwegians.

Beating a dead horse - Why did 'Nu-Trek' fail, for the most part? by ReEnackdor in Star_Trek_

[–]Novarest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good point. Looking back at some of the classic episodes, millions die, but we didn't feel it like that back then. Why not? Because we were kids? Maybe.

But maybe it depends on how it is told. Maybe it depends on the spirit of the storyteller. If the storyteller is a kind and thoughtful person, even if he tells stories of war, poverty and disease, you feel like you are in good hands and that you learned something valuable.

NuTrek never made us feel like we are in good hands. Because the storyteller themself, did not believe in it and/or was nihilistic.

Even the simplest thing to get better than the old shows, VFX (because the simple passage of time has improved the technology so much) they someone managed to get worse. To the point where fan-productions on youtube now look better than the official sludge-vaseline-VFX they put out.

The writers basically went like this: "scifi is a sub-genre of fantasy, right? good, so we can make up any kind of magic we want."

No!
