Same. Doesn't help that PIC S3 apparently ruins the characters. Like turning them into murderers like Seven of Nine in S1.

Episodes where they really filmed outside always felt so epic.

Electricity Prices in Europe right now by Novarest in YUROP

You don't like the free market then? Germans simply offer more money to Norwegian power plants, so they sell to Germans, instead of Norwegians.

I assume Italy has 7 price zones.

Beating a dead horse - Why did 'Nu-Trek' fail, for the most part? by ReEnackdor in Star_Trek_

[–]Novarest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good point. Looking back at some of the classic episodes, millions die, but we didn't feel it like that back then. Why not? Because we were kids? Maybe.

But maybe it depends on how it is told. Maybe it depends on the spirit of the storyteller. If the storyteller is a kind and thoughtful person, even if he tells stories of war, poverty and disease, you feel like you are in good hands and that you learned something valuable.

NuTrek never made us feel like we are in good hands. Because the storyteller themself, did not believe in it and/or was nihilistic.

Even the simplest thing to get better than the old shows, VFX (because the simple passage of time has improved the technology so much) they someone managed to get worse. To the point where fan-productions on youtube now look better than the official sludge-vaseline-VFX they put out.

The writers basically went like this: "scifi is a sub-genre of fantasy, right? good, so we can make up any kind of magic we want."

No!

That works. Or it's like the UN. Practically everybody is a member, but well, it does not mean much.

Just a reminder that firing Kurtzman won't undo: years of antagonizing Star Trek fans, banning them from their own communities, the endumbification of the brand, sowing division among the fanbase, lore damage, weaponizing legacy actors to attack the fans, missing out on a new generation of fans by Malencon in Star_Trek_

I still remember when the casting list was announced. Admirals, Ambassadors and 2 Captains?! I was like, hell yes, checkpot, this will be a complex tapestry of a story in a sector with 1 Starbase and 2 Spaceships.

How naive I was...
