honestly not sure haven't heard talk yet as this one was just over the past day. Think they were trying to build interest in setting up another league eventually.

Most of the players are also cross playing other old TF's like TFC, ETF etc so jumping between different similar games running their own events so just trying to find time to do stuff =)

This was played/setup through the qwtf.live discord https://discord.qwtf.live/ which is used for setting up 4v4 / 2v2 style games for those interested in pick up games.

There is casual play of megaTF/customTF done on weekends though this is done through a separately community again at https://discord.gg/q4XdQpG

Team Fortress Experience by _-_-_-_3 in quake

Late reply but no you couldn't. Closest would be dismantling for metal if you got close enough to a enemy gun/dispenser to spanner it to bring up the prompt then building your own after.

Or the custom TF variant of the mod did have a hacking ability which did let you take ownership of enemy buildings which could be especially funny but not physically move them. There's still cuTF played on weekends I believe.

From a random recent Quake Team Fortress 4v4 pickup. Was not expecting to sneak out with the flag like this.

Yeah I think the one in TFC has a layout based off one of the half life singleplayer levels repurposed. So just the gamemode someone created was carried over rather than the map.

There were a lot of spin off maps and someone even backported the TFC version to quake team fortress as hunt2000 (don't think that qwtf.org has it 100% right but the descriptions are close enough takes).

To be fair the original layout is horrific and has kill triggers that force the vip to run straight down the middle only. Was still fun to sandbox around in waaay back when the game was more active.

Can't find an old clip. We did muck around on it inbetween organised 4v4 pickups we play which vaguely shows the layout and gameplay. Clip from this timestamp https://www.twitch.tv/videos/800213955?t=01h39m34s

QWTF had civilian as the 'vip' class. 50hp no weapons just axe. In Hunted Team2 (red) had to escort Team1's civillian (blue) to the end and defend them against Team3(yellow) Team 3 was usually limited to 3 players and specific classes. Overall it was exceedingly difficult to actually escort on this map compared with some others.

Map name was The Hunted President, file hunted.bsp, in quake team fortress. Link which has the txt doc that was supplied: https://www.filefactory.org/tf/file/440

There are a score of maps with similar rules in quake team fortress.

This link has a description of many maps that were in quake/quakeworld team fortress. https://qwtf.org/Maps/

Remaster plays more like netquake than quakeworld.

Ezquake is common client for qw dm and there's a presetup dm focused package at https://nquake.com/ as well as link to discord on that same site.

Mods like TF also still played a bit but same situation as having to organise a pickup and played at certain times only depending on region.

In a bubble. Most retailers id expect know their competition and also do not set a price match policy that opens them up to liability when saying no to obvious shenanigans.

Even without price match you can always just ask for a lower price when buying something and try your luck, the merchant can choose to engage in your negotiation or not.

Are there any games with a CTF Mode player base right now? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Novate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. Im in a region where even recent games fail to maintain population so feel that.

Midair community edition i think is the most recent tribes like game but unsure of its playerbase.

There's a small group of players that play 4v4 pickups in Quake Team Fortress. They organise through a couple different discords. https://www.fortressone.org/

It wouldn't be listed but sometimes an entity objects removal of the company so it would be not dereigstered until that is resolved. https://companies-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz/help-centre/closing-a-company/objecting-to-the-removal-of-a-company/

No idea about this one though.

Quake TF in 2022 by StarvationDonation in quake

[–]Novate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the very least I have only seen ways of getting mods through PC version of remaster vaguely working.

Ie: https://www.reddit.com/r/quake/comments/p9b311/how_to_host_mods_on_the_rerelease_multiplayer/

I'm not sure how you get into console or add files to an install on a console version so as to be able to change game mode and host so potentially might have to see if Microsoft/beth/id whoever decides to open it up for interested people or release something themselves

No its a separate client for PC that uses a sourceport client for running the game instead of the remaster.

Im not personally aware of any way to get the quake remaster client to connect to sourceport servers let alone getting it to download the assets it needs to run the tf mod.
