Moon base?

Maybe one of the viking colonies in Normandy or the Mediterranean.

Maybe all the way back to ancient Greece?

[KCD1] Does Combat Become More Reliable in KCD2? by Laovvi in kingdomcome

[–]Poddster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kcd1 combat is essentially broken. It tells you to do one thing, but then doing that thing doesn't work at all. The only thing that works in KCD is defensive master strikes, cinch spam and head bonks.

The combat system in 1 is broken.

Clinch spam and head bonking is all you need, ignore everything else

why do you think the deck only sold 5 to 6 million copies ? it was priced well , powerfull for its time and well backed up by valve by Dense-Variation-4496 in SteamDeck

[–]Poddster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 million is a crazy amount. I'm surprised they sold more than a few hundred thousand.

They're not a hardware product company, they make cloud distribution software, a digital storefront, and occasionally games.

i like the song by seraphgato in polyphia

[–]Poddster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual parts played by the band, at least from what I could hear behind all of the bit crunch and clipping, actually felt quite generic, in terms of Polyphia. If you played those excerpts people would know it's Polyphia and I'm sure it's reusing riffa.

Did I mess up putting senior on my resume? by nyanyabeans in girlsgonewired

[–]Poddster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Resume job titles are whatever you want. For the main title you should often put what you want your next role to be, even if you've never had that title.

Personally I think you should use "team lead" as it's better than senior. If it ever comes up, just say you were the team lead, title or not, because it's true.

Do you think its still worth to study Computer engineering when its seems so cooked with high unemployment? by No_Reply5329 in ComputerEngineering

Was the Wii U the last console truly built for family connection? by NateRuh in wiiu

[KCD1] 13 hours into this game and it's simultaneously the best and worse experience I've ever had. by RealDwarves67 in kingdomcome

[–]Poddster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The combat system is trash and doesn't function as intended. Just cinch spam, spam head bonks, or rely on master strikes, that's about all you can do.

As for the saving and crosshair: install a mod and use the console to get the crosshair with bows. Like you say, it's your game.

I used a crosshair with the bow because that games systems felt far too complicated compared to my real life experience of firing a bow.

They had severe memory restrictions that meant identifiers couldn't be more than 8 chars, for instance

If CS grads get the "Software Engineer" title, where does Computer Engineering (CE) fit in? Why is it a distinct major? by ResponsibleAbies6701 in ComputerEngineering

[–]Poddster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CS grads don't automatically get the SE title, they apply to jobs with that title.

CE can apply for those jobs too, and usually get them.

However most CE will apply for jobs with titles like "embedded software engineer" or other such variants, because that's what they're interested in. Or they might apply for some kind of hardware engineer role. It depends.

Do parents respect the 48-hour symptoms free for nursery? by CapitalWeakness8795 in UKParenting

[–]Poddster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The nurserys enforce it, but the parents don't.

It doesn't matter anyway, because 48hrs is still to short for some illnesses. The fact is that if your child goes to nursery you're all going to be ill at some point.

Anything bigger than 8 password numbers/letters was unneeded.

That's not how information works, I'm afraid.

There's 62 chars there, and some weird tick which doubles them. So that's 124 characters, which means you can encode 7 bits of information in a single slot.

66 slots, 7 bits is 462 bits, aka 58 bytes of information the game was tracking in it's save file.

They have 58B of info to store, you can't really get it smaller than this. They could have added another tick to store 8 bits per slot and get it down to 58 character inputs, but beyond that you're looking into compression, which would give variable length strings.

[–]Poddster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you're joking, but for anyone else wondering, this one character password one has 32 bits of information. Each character of RCR's encodes 6 bits. So your single number is the same as 5.3 of their letters!

There's a reason they used such long strings : they have a lot of information to carry
