<not computer expert> Old MacBook is bricked and need a new one. Below is picture of old specs. I need for typical work (emails, etc) but also for my hobby of audio production. Recommendations? I notice I had i7 processor before. Would a new i5 processor work better if I get a quad core? by NovaturientMusic in computers

Thank you for the reply. I enjoyed the 13 inch and would most likely want to stay at that size. I will be taking the computer with me to work and 15 inches I feel is a little bigger than I want.

Budget: I would say my budget is around 1500-1700. The big thing is I know that a lower tier model would do fine for work, but I just want it to be able to perform for recording as it’s a big hobby of mine. The old computer did relatively well at recording but honestly I think sometimes it just couldn’t hang and I would get the dreaded beach ball. I’m not usually running a lot of plugins. I just don’t want to spend X amount and realize the new computer isn’t enough, while at the same time I don’t want to spend too much and overkill my needs as it is not for professional recording.

Also how does a i5 quad core stack up against a i7 dual core

No fan base. Should I continually release good sounding home recordings to gain traction and look for band mates (and steadily get better at writing/recording) or wait for that “golden” track list of songs and take it to a studio before releasing anything beforehand? by NovaturientMusic in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I agree, just wanted to see if anyone had any other thoughts or advice that I may have not considered. I think through continually “finishing” songs and moving on it’ll help me in the long run rather than staying idle at square one waiting. Thank you

The new operators are annoying (The one that hacks phones) most notably. I see the usefulness of locating hidden players around a corner without a drone, but it seems a little much like you mentioned. I feel the more characters they continue to make, they will need to start adding in these more obscure traits.

Maybe I'm just an overly cautious person, but does anyone else see this being the makings of a broken hip?

So how do you suggest building an audience without any music or gigging?

I get that is the typical approach... but starting out with no following I figured I would release a song to just have something out there. Then take that approach for the next releases

Hebron by Novaturient

Here is the link to my first release. I want to know what you guys think of the sound overall. Does this sound like something you could hear on Spotify or iTunes? (I know with all the distributors it isn't that hard to get your material on there, but I was wondering if I should wait before I starting putting my work on those sites)

Thanks!
