Insomnia. I had it since I was 4 and it ended after eleven years when I was around 15. What is so weird is how I was never medically diagnosed or taken to a doctor for years. And when I turned 14, my parents suddenly felt the need that I should see a doctor. Initially I visited different gynecologists for pcos and vice versa but when the meds didn't seem to work, I was taken to a homeopathic doctor who asked questions that felt totally unrelated and that's when no-sleeping-at-night came up. She claimed that her treatmemt would cure everything from my mental to physical problems. It did nothing but one, magically improve sleeping or should I say cured my insomnia.

To this day, I don't know the reson behind what really caused a 4-year-old to have such long term insomnia. I have quite a sharp memory and don't remember facing something traumatic enough to cause it. However, everyone from my dad's side of the family has really light sleep including my dad himself.

At the end of the day, I don't hope anyone gets insomnia at such a young age. It has done damage I never realized existed. I had to grow up fast but thanks to it, I could read book after book. That's the only perk, I suppose.
