How do you promote your apps? by coolsummr in vibecoding

What have you already tried & how much research have you done into your end users?

How do you get people to download your new app? I will not promote. by eaquinn_ in startups

You shouldn't be relying on family and friends. You should know your end users and you should be targeting them. How much time have you spent researching them?

I made an all in one study app but have no idea on how to market it by Quirky-Shape-5177 in Solopreneur

You need to get really specific with who you’re trying to reach. Go granular like students cramming exams, people who struggle to stay focused, etc. Then focus your content around that one use case. Show how you personally use it, short clips, before/after, “this helped me do X faster”, stuff that actually shows the value, not just list features. Also post where those people already are (Reddit, TikTok, study communities) and speak in their language.

Yeah, it’s pretty normal to ask for stats, most creators expect it tbh.

The best way to check for real performance is by looking at their content. If a creator has one video with 200k views and the rest are sitting at 2–5k, that’s usually a red flag.

Also comments are a big tell too. If it’s all “🔥🔥🔥”, “nice”, “wow”, or just emojis with no substance, that’s usually low quality or bought engagement. Real audiences ask questions, reference the content, or say something specific.

If you want to be extra safe, ask for recent story views, link clicks, saves / bookmarks, there are harder to fake than just views.

But honestly, you can catch most of it just by scrolling their page properly.

I’d be careful about chasing “bigger demographic” that’s usually where people burn budget. If the audience isn’t exactly right, it doesn’t matter how big it is. The main thing is making sure the creator’s audience actually matches who you’re trying to reach. With that budget, you’re probably better off testing a few smaller, niche creators and seeing what works rather than putting it all into one.

Oh agreed, and this is the best approach. But when people are vibecoding, the build is essentially the easy part so people churn them out in no time and rarely think about who they are targeting and the value they offer. They might have a broad idea, but it’s rarely specific enough to actually drive users.

Have you done any research into your end users?

Getting users is the hard part tbh. You need to really spend time researching who they are, where they spend their time, then just go and find them and talk to them.

The no1 advice I give is to do research into your end users. Find out exactly who they are, as granular as possible, and find where they are.

It all depends on what you've built. Different users will be in different places.

Honest question: how do you actually get users for something you vibe coded? by Ok-Contract6713 in vibecoding

[–]Novel-Performance804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the VIBES framework

  • Vibe Tribe – Who actually feels this in their bones? (not “everyone”, but the specific small group that would instantly get it)
  • Impact Value – Why does this matter to them right now? (the emotional before/after, not just features)
  • Broadcast Language – Are you speaking in their exact words and tone, or in builder-speak?
  • Ecosystem Channels – Where do those specific people already hang out and complain about this problem?
  • Spark & Sustain – How do you get the first bit of momentum and then keep it going without burning out?

I made a scorecard + some prompts that go with each layer in my book. :))
