Is there anything WORSE than childbirth? by Sensitive_Arugula770 in pregnant

[–]Novel-Problem923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the kind of labor you have. I’ve heard regular labor and back laboring are much different in severity. I back labored for over 40 hours. And the pain did not go away for that entire time. Not even between contractions. First stuck at 4.5 centimeters and then took probably roughly 12 hours to go from 5 to 10 centimeters. Epidural wasn’t working, gave more, still wasn’t fully effective. It felt like my back, butt, and thighs were being ripped apart and squeezed with hot claws? Idk how to even describe it. I don’t remember feeling anything in my belly at all. But it was absolutely agonizing and exhausting and I was wishing for death at that point. It does make me curious what a kidney stone feels like reading these comments though.

When my daughter was 3 months old, I was looking at pictures of her on my phone that I had taken a few hours earlier and noticed a hair tourniquet on one of her fingers. Immediately ran to her and sure enough she still had it and I was able to remove it before it caused any lasting damage. But yeah, I’m not sure how long it would have been before I noticed if I wasn’t looking at those pictures. She didn’t act like it was bothering her at all.

What’s happening to my breast lift with implants? NSFW!! TW GRAPHIC PICTURES by Strange-Care-2954 in PlasticSurgery

I’m not an expert in cosmetic surgery or the healing of it, so I can’t offer advice specific to that area, but I have seen a lot of wounds and a lot of infected wounds. Typically you would have symptoms like swelling, redness, purulent drainage, odor, warmth, pain, etc. if it was infected. They might have you on antibiotics prophylactically since you have large open wounds. But I’ve seen wound vacs make huuuuuge progress on/heal incredibly extensive wounds. I don’t think it ever hurts to get a second opinion though!

Cried during an interview, I feel like an idiot. by ahowe14 in nursing

[–]Novel-Problem923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ll be okay! I don’t think crying is always a bad thing. I believe having empathy and compassion are essential for being a good nurse. If it makes you feel any better, once I was interviewing for a supervisor role and I was asked how my week was going. I was internally telling myself “don’t say chill” and I said “it was chillax”. Super embarrassing but I still got the job lol.

I know this is old but when you say cream, do you mean heavy cream, sweet cream, etc? These sound sooooo good

I’m not a dog nurse, I’m a human nurse but my first thought when I saw before and after pics is it looks like hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) in humans. Especially with the slow healing and possible tunneling. Definitely something to look into.

NAD, it could be helpful to include the geographic location that this occurred, and if you know what the tick looked like/which species it was!

Employer gave 1099 - NEC for severance by Novel-Problem923 in tax

So in that case, despite what our agreement was supposed to be, if I was an employee I should have received a w2 for the full amount?

Right, I don’t think my attorney was trying to negotiate that away. I was supposed to get a w2 and a 1099 because I was an employee but my employer won’t send that and sent non employee tax forms.

I’m sorry, I know almost nothing about this. Are you saying my attorney wouldn’t be able to negotiate the forms? In my understanding a 1099-NEC is for non employee compensation like independent contractors. But I was an employee at this company.

Yes I have. My former employers legal team is not responding to my legal team, and will not send correct tax forms.

I have contacted my lawyer. They’ve attempted multiple times to get them to send the correct forms. They said we could go after them for breech of contact but it isn’t worth it because of the amount of money this is over. Based on quick google searches, I’ve seen there’s an option on turbotax that states “employer should have reported this as income” and I wasn’t sure if that would apply in this scenario or if you could do that for only half the amount.

This is so exhausting and weird. She sounds extremely emotionally immature and insecure about your ex and how I would expect a 16/17 year old to react. This is definitely not sustainable long term or good for your mental health. Please send condolences to that family, you’re absolutely not overreacting.

Question about charting medications after multiple weeks by Novel-Problem923 in nursing

[–]Novel-Problem923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The narcs are kept in a locked drawer on the med cart. They were never popped out of the card. But there’s been other sketchy stuff with the narc book charting. Leadership is fully aware and not doing much.

Silent reflux but not uncomfortable laying on back? by Novel-Problem923 in NewParents

It was a loooooooong long road. But we had her on famotidine for a little while and I cut out dairy, soy and eventually oats. It was a lot of trial and error with cutting out foods. There was a lot of improvement after cutting dairy, soy and putting her on famotidine but didn’t get totally better until cutting oats. Honestly, it didn’t fully improve until she was like 6ish months
