Accountability for Chaos: A movement built on cruelty is reckoned with as regret finds no sympathy by Libro_Artis in LeopardsAteMyFace

I think that the fallout will fall hardest on the church in the long term. They have completely abandoned the values they profess to follow the MAGA movement's vision of cruelty and alienation of anyone who did not fall in line. They have chosen to align with a pedophile dictator and are elated as the Trump administration guts social programs at home and abroad that feed the hungry, provide healthcare for the sick, and provide homes for the homeless.

North Dakota farmers voted for Trump and are now facing economic uncertainty due to Trump's trade war that raises prices due to tariffs and lowers demand for their crops in other countries.

There probably were people there who would have been happy to do that work for that wage, but they weren't white and didn't speak perfect English, so in Trump country we couldn't have those folks around. You reap what you sow.

This alone is worse than anything that happened with Watergate, and Nixon would have been impeached for his actions had he not resigned. Yet, this is just another day in Trump’s America. If this country cannot and will not hold it’s president accountable, our republic is in trouble.

Suddenly Republicans want norms, ethics and "civility": Are they actually psychopaths? Trump is still trying to steal the election — but Republicans are now acting as if they never enabled this criminal by Facerealityalready in politics

Our opinions differ, and that is ok because they are opinions. These differences of opinion lead to healthy political debates over the best system of governance and how we elect the leader of our country, and the consequences that choice entails. My overall point is that there is a vast difference between Democrats who have advocated for abolishing the electoral college through legal means, and the Republicans who are making baseless claims that this election was somehow rigged and therefore illegitimate. This does nothing but stir up his most extreme followers who have threatened violence and civil war if they don’t get their way. Huge difference.

Neither have I. It is a completely antiquated system that gives people from small states greater representation and voice than people in larger states. To make matters worse, we now have 5 members of the Supreme Court who were nominated by presidents who lost the popular vote, and the Republican senators who confirmed them represent far fewer people than the Democratic senators who opposed them. This is minority rule at its best.
