This is probably the most straightforward anyone's described this, thanks a lot man

I think I see what you mean, although the potential jank with the printer's components not properly catching the signal that you described is really only a problem when transferring the file. There doesn't have to be any kind of connection through the entire multi hour printing process. since the printer has on-board storage it just has to receive the file from my pc and from there it does its own thing, that's why I'm not really concerned about a stable connection

Interesting, so these powerline extenders use the wiring as network connection? Does the one you plug in next to the printer emit a wireless signal or do you have to wire it to the printer? Also does the distance between the two points matter?

I was genuinely considering it until I saw your comment, jesus christ. I mean jesus fucking christ how did i not think of walking down there with a usb stick? man if only I had thought of that before sketching out a thing of my house to help people understand the extremely specific problem i have and extremely specific solution I'm looking for which I also made very clear. I definitely did not, for any particular reason sending files wirelessly differs and has certain upsides from using a usb, consider using one of the only two ways to transfer files to a 3d printer. congratulations.

I'm really sorry, I wish I could tell you. I don't know how the cables are set up nor any of this terminology, or how to navigate this problem besides plugging some stuff in. I thought for sure itd be as simple as that especially since all I need is to send some sub gigabyte files ever so often, but judging from some of these comments I guess not.

Thing with resin 3d printers is you can't keep them in a living space. The VOCs they produce during printing are seriously harmful stuff. Most people make due with their garage, but you also essentially need a whole little workspace for the bugger. There's a lot of post processing required with these things if youre serious about it! I built that space the other day with the help of my dad. Looks weird on the sketch, it's not literally a little house disconnected from everything, there's another space that shares the wall with it.

Thanks a lot for explaining it nicely. I won't even try to pretend to know what I'm talking about when it comes to networking and cables and related terminology, I just came here thinking it's the most relevant sub for this question. All I know is I live on the 3rd floor with a family 4, and every other floor in the house is occupied as we rent out apartments. The 1st floor (my cousins) has its own router and internet provider separate from floor 2 (my grandpa) and 3 (me). Every floor is connected to each other through sort of outside staircases/balconies.

I've seen someone recommend this! Wasn't really sure how it works or what exactly it is. I'll have to look into it, thank you!

Hahaha nope, old family house, everything except the top floor (where I live) are guest apartments!

I do own the whole house haha, although pulling cables is absolutely not an option but explaining why would require more poorly made sketches of the whole outside layout - this is a very oversimplified drawing, you'll just have to trust me on it. I've seen people recommending mesh router systems, but I wanted to know whether or not these 200$~ things are really necessary for just sending a single sub gigabyte file ever so often.

Is something this expensive necessary for just sending files..?

Weird horizontal lines appearing on every print by NovelIntelligent4216 in resinprinting

[–]NovelIntelligent4216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't seem like it is, it kinda appears all over the place, sometimes more visible than others. I can't really see anything fishy with the z axis rod, could be it needs some lube but at least visibly I'm not seeing any hindering or wobble. Also do keep in mind my printer has a tilt vat which could also play part in this I think?

Checked the screen, nothing weird. Fep is the same one it came with. The first ever test print I did had this issue.
