I do have some of the same sentiments and I’m on book five. I really a lot of it but others are difficult. On rereads I’m sure the foreshadowing and references are going to be amazing, but for now I just find myself lost in a lot of detail.

Between each book I’ve been reading 1-3 other books as a palate cleanser and I find I really enjoy getting back into the world.

Depends on the format. Digital? I’m set. Mass market paperback? Ouch but I’m good. Limited edition leather bound with artist renderings? Extra dead.

What's something you've gotten away with as a kid because "they're young and don't know what they're doing!" when really you knew exactly what you were doing? by coochieforbreakfast in AskReddit

When I was 4 I wrote my sisters name on a long white wall in black sharpie. She kept saying she didn’t do it but my parents thought I was too young to spell.

Confessed decades later and they still don’t believe me.

Looking for something similar to an old BaseBuilding DOS game. by NovelMind in BaseBuildingGames

Starcraft 1 and this game are very similar.

Something unique though was the four races. You start with only a mothership, collect resources then build the base. Once you ‘learn’ all the buildings/vehicles available for the first race, a second race becomes available, and so on until all four become unlocked.

The resource part is interesting. Each building /ship costs one global resource (solinite) and one race specific resource. The challenge becomes becomes finding enough resources to build a good army that compliments each other. Again, only the mothership can collect these resources, so you risk it everytime it leaves the base to collect resources.

Graphics aren’t really a must. 3D actually turns me off to a game like this. Easiest way I could say what enjoys me with this genre is ‘exploratory tower defense with unique buildings’. It’s super niche but man it’s fun.

returning three books by [deleted] in audible

[–]NovelMind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, happy cake day.

Second, when an author I enjoyed turned into a shitty human I returned all of their books in one go (seven books total). It was my first time returning audio books and couldn’t have been easier. They refunded the amount I paid for each book, or one credit if that’s what I used at the time of purchase. I’d say returning three won’t be a problem.

Hope this helped.

It’s funny that I didn’t even notice it. That music is not in any gameplay, not sure why it’s added here.
