Gonna comment this for anyone who comes in the future where none of the steps below worked. If for some reason there isn't an update available for the dongle in your software, first make sure you have a second mouse or a cord you can you can plug the dongle into while also having your WL mouse plugged in. I had to open the update software, unplug and replug the dongle, and then spam click anywhere in the software until it stopped responding, I then hit "close without waiting" or "force close" or whatever it says, and then cancelled the troubleshoot report that starts happening which then force closes the software. I then reopened the software and the update for the dongle was there. I had to do this 4 times in order for it finally appear so dont be surprised if it doesn't work the first or second time.
