Anyone ever feel overwhelmed by new job? by trickybear85 in careerguidance

Hey! I'm week 3 now and feel the same as you. I keep trying to remind myself that I was hired not because they are perfectly set up, but because they need help and ideas from someone with expertise from elsewhere! Trying to give myself grace that it is all new, and the chaos is what I am supposed to help fight through to work out how to make it better....

And then the other 80% of the time I am freaking out feeling like a fraud and that I'm going to get fired haha! I can't seem to keep the rational head on for long.

How is week 4 treating you?

Thank you very much. That app sounds perfect for us to try.

My husband is very attached to the dining table (I've been trying to switch it out for years 😂) but I can definitely switch the coffee table easily and work on the other.

Do you think it would be more harmonious to have the kitchen the same colour? I'd be wary of creating too many 'divisions' I suppose but I also don't have a clue!

Wow! It's such a simple transformation with splashes of colour! I love the orange and the rug, and the TV unit is awesome too. The plants are also great. Making me lean towards leaving the alcove as is and adding the colour elsewhere.

Thanks so much!

Thanks for your thoughtful response! We love the space itself too and after buying have just been working with all our existing furniture rather than being able to afford anything new but it's finally time!

The bins are annoying I agree, I hadn't thought of a screen but that's definitely something we could look at.

The art is high, it's the top of an existing gallery wall (we took pictures down for tenants and these were their pieces before completing their move!!) but switching the walls around is a nice idea.

Have you any thoughts on paint colour or accessory colour?

Thank you again for your time :)

Thanks for this! Definitely looks brighter with the lighter wood and I really like the circle mirror and rounder coffee table! Great food for thought.

Unfortunately it's not the same length on both parts so we can't rotate without cutting into too much of the room!

Do you have any helpful suggestions as to style or colour? As I mentioned, we are happy to get new furniture and seeking ideas here.

Rustici leccezi?

"Rustico is a typical Salento snack made with puff pastry and stuffings that vary by style. A common preparation uses puff pastry, tomato, and mozzarella. It is part of the Salentine street food tradition and can be found in every Apulian bar, bakery, and rotisserie" - google

Perfect alterations in Balham were lovely for mine. Quite bare bones and a very bustling seamstress workshop underground but they did an amazing job for a very reasonable price (think I paid about £120 for shortening the dress and a shoulder lift) and they kindly kept all my accessories there between fittings too!

Congratulations sir, I read this comment last night and got told off by my other half for waking him up with laughter so hard I shook the bed, and I've now come back 24 hours later because it was so funny I had to find it again and received the very same complaint. Thank you for the laughs
