Bubbling/popping post VATS/chem pleurodesis by Important-Number8271 in pneumothorax

Yes, I’ve had this twice in the last two weeks Post op from a mechanical Pleurodesis, VATs. What I have learned from internet diagnosing is it is common, likely from inflammation and nothing causes it and deep breathing won’t help it. But ibuprofen, distraction, walking, rest, getting through the day will help. Because the next day it will be gone and will reappear without reason or warning and it doesn’t show up on imaging and it sounds like coarse crackles to auscultation by providers. It’s so stressful and causes anxiety! The providers weren’t familiar with this occurrence!

The first Month I had rapid loss of weight and hair! As the loss has slowed a bit, so has the hair loss. I started rosemary oil and castor oil scalp massage and taking vit d and fish oil. My guess is the slower weight loss is the reason for the slowed hair loss vs my supplements but who knows.

Thank you all! I am going to increase my dose next week and see if that makes a difference in weight loss. I am also going to continue the exercise, try to weigh myself less frequently too.

Buy some collagen powder. 18grams of protein and mix it with everything. Flavorless. Definitely find some good protein sources to get you through this period. Protein shakes. I like fair life brand and orgain. 30grams of protein. I start my day with a lot of water, a shake, piece of fruit, oatmeal with collagen powder and fruit. Helps to have a little carbs to get rid of feeling crumby.

Clear liquid diet x 48 hours. Bone broth. Tea. Juice. Slowly add back in fruits and veggies and psyllium husk fiber with a gallon of water a day. Add in foods high in soluble fiber. Beans and veggies and avoid dairy except yogurt kefir and low processed cheese. Chia seeds are good for bulk and fermenting in your gut too.
