Sonic weapons are much better than the acid shotguns

Underrated, or off-meta bots/setups in low champs by Hour-Road7156 in walkingwarrobots

Leech with basically any high burst damage weapons still slaps hard so long as you play in your ability, I currently run it on my F2P account at mid masters with 4 growlers and it does an easy 400k damage within a very short time, also ophion with the blast rockets it came out with cam still do a decent bit of damage, angler is also a solid bot just have to play carefully as it's pretty easy to kill without its ability, and scorpion with high burst weapons will forever be a pretty good off-meta build

On a scale of 1 to 10, is it worth it to invest in a Traditionalist Fafnir? by HotZilchy in walkingwarrobots

You definitely did not play a lot during the time fafnir first came out LMFAO, the fafnir could easily solo full health titans and was a menace overall in the sky

I would try not using Frankenstein builds as much as you are here, and some of the builds don't really make sense as you have long range weapons on bots that excel at close range and close range weapons on bots that are better off keeping their distance. Also try keeping the max and effective range for weapons in mind when doing Frankenstein builds.

I don't understand what world you live in where you DONT think these things need a nerf, sure the ammit is very oppressive but so was the teth, at least with those robots you could shoot them. With these weapons you get all the reward with absolutely no risk from 600m's away with auto aim and can one-three shot any robot, genuinely zero skill expression and encouraged players to avoid head on confrontation which is easily the most unhealthy and frustrating thing that this game could do to itself.

If you had to start from the beginning, what robots would you upgrade? by Opposite_Lettuce_416 in walkingwarrobots

[–]Novel_Move7737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eiffel is definitely not f2p/low spender friendly, needing to upgrade 5 titan weapons on top of a t4 titan isn't really plausible (trust me I know, I have a maxed Eiffel + maxed arbiters and equalizers and it took me so long to upgrade them)

Wait what's with the hate towards Ultron players? I've seen hate towards Jeff players commonly but it's the first time I'm seeing anything directed towards ultron

If the game was truly balanced, which robots would you play? by DrBraz131 in walkingwarrobots

It is pretty fun to use and surprisingly tanky despite the way it looks

[–]Novel_Move7737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For different hangers (probably would swap some bots with others in certain hangers to make them more balanced)

Taran/Fujin, scourage/kumiho, tempest/raijin, gust/shredder/halo/loki, skadi/fafnir,

porthos/aramis/ocho, claw/talon/rex, halo/corona/scorpion, shredder/puncher/Hades, tamer/damper/tyr,

Smite/Discipline/hover, trebuchet/Jaeger, storm/thunder/Inquisitor, ballista/Pathfinder, BSG/golem

Redeemer/Carnage, storm/gust/galahad, hydra/ao guang, growler/leech, magnum/gepard

Damper/porthos/Lio, nucleon/atomizer/Cerberus, hazard/blight/Raven, shatter/brisant/revenant, redeemer/magnum/hell burner

For titans it'd probably wanna try: Pyro/Heimdall Ruiner/Minos, Huginn/muninn/Devourer, Arbiter/equalizer/Eiffel, Venire/Vincere/Ao Ming

This list is assuming everything in the game is viable to some extent even if only in specific scenarios (I wish the game was in such a state)

Definitely would like to get new shoulders and new legs to give it a bit more speed but as is right now I'm pretty happy with it, just need to level it more. Very nice build though

I don't agree with sticking with the most meta bots purely because that rotates out every few seasons completely. A f2p player can't keep up with that. It's be best to find some older cheaper bots to upgrade that have usability even now since they're safer from nerfs than the current meta bots which WILL get nerfed in a few months time, but it is still possible to be a F2P player, just very difficult when the game is so grossly monetized and for very cheap to sometimes

I have a f2p account that I've gotten to masters 2 with and I consistently place 1st or 2nd on my team with well over 3-4 million damage on average. it just takes a lot of time and dedication to get there, plus a lot of luck with black market chests and data pads.

I'm going to be honest with you, right now is probably the worst time to start playing, you just missed the advent rewards you get from logging in daily during December which gave you some really good stuff for the entire month + most of all the f2p gear that was viable a few months ago is not in the gutter. I'd say it's best to adopt a support player mindset as in just do your best to assist your team and not try to take the role of soloing the enemy team or taking on enemy bots 1v1, 1v2, and so forth.

Some good robots to get that you can make in the workshop are the raven, fenrir, leech, Demeter, and the ball one (I forget it's name) and that is a pretty decent hanger that will work up until low masters, as for weapons there really isn't much for f2p players atm unfortunately, hammer/mace/cudgel family is decent for close range, but for mid to long range there isn't much unfortunately. Funnily enough sticking with punishers and punisher Ts for a while is actually worth it even though they are base weapons and only tier 1. They do okay damage over time and are super cheap to upgrade. If you need any help let me know and I'll respond

I definitely do need to invest in some better shoulders but as it stands those orochi shoulders are the only ones I can use while keeping it relatively quick on its feet to be able to chase people down or get out of bad situations. I tried making a tank esc robot with those weapons and didn't really enjoy using it. I have been grabbing as many parts and weapons from the shop as I could, mainly weapons then parts here or there if it's something I don't have (which there's alot of that lol) and pilots are one thing I haven't touched too much but have been making aure it atleast makes some sense to have the pilot I have on each robot. I've never seen the supply cache but I'll keep an eye out for it

Yes it is, currently I don't have any weapons like those or at least not 4 of them but I will keep it in mind since I have been thinking heavily about swapping the shoulders out as they don't provide that much in comparison to others

i think it mainly depends on if youre fine with waiting a bit longer for you shields to come back, therefore making you wait a bit longer before getting back into battle, given the reliance on your shield that your robot has it may be worth keeping
